Sooooo excited to share that Iāve been offered a charity place in the London Marathon 2027, where Iāll be running for Leukaemia Care UK.
Like many people I know, I entered the ballot; but I also had a little look at the charities offering places. As I scrolled through the list, Leukaemia Care immediately stood out to me.
Recently a family friend, very close to my dad sadly passed away from leukaemia at the tender age of just 36. While I wasnāt one of his closest friends, his story has always stayed with me. Leukaemia Care supported his family during an incredibly difficult time, and before he passed away, his wife and two children worked hard to raise money for the charity that had helped them so much.
When I saw Leukaemia Care on the list, it felt like the right charity to support and a meaningful way to honour his memory.
Over the next few months, alongside running my business and training for the marathon, Iāll be organising a number of fundraising events to help reach my target. Iāll share details of these as theyāre announced, and Iād be incredibly grateful for any support along the way.
