A bittersweet goodbye! 💛

This week, we said a fond farewell to the wonderful Emma.

Emma has brought so much joy, warmth and enthusiasm to Heathland House, and we’re really going to miss seeing her around.

As one chapter comes to an end, another very exciting one begins, with Emma heading to Wales to start her next adventure with her soon-to-be husband. We couldn’t be happier for you, Emma, and wish you both every happiness for the future.

Good luck with this exciting new chapter — you have such a bright future ahead of you! ❤️

🚂✨ All Aboard for a Day to Remember! ✨🚂

Earlier this year, one of our residents, Leonard, made history by winning the very first Race Across Dorset! 🏆 His fantastic prize? A special day out on the Swanage Railway! 🚂

Leonard chose to share his prize with fellow Race Across Dorset competitor, Phil, and what a wonderful day they had!

The pair travelled in style in the Observatory Viewing Carriage, enjoying a delicious cream tea complete with scones, jam and cream, and even a little bubbly to celebrate! 🥂🍰

With glorious weather, beautiful scenery, delicious treats and, most importantly, great company, it really was a day to remember. ❤️

A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff at Swanage Railway, who were so attentive, friendly and informative from start to finish. Your care and enthusiasm helped make Leonard and Phil’s day extra special. 👏

Here’s to making more memories, enjoying new adventures and celebrating every victory along the way! 🥂🚂💙

🌙✨ A Night to Remember at Heathland House! ✨🌙

Last night’s solar eclipse had us all looking to the skies in awe! 🌞🌑

Take a look at some of our wonderful residents and team members enjoying the 2026 Solar Eclipse, from start to finish! 📸✨

Whether we were outside in the garden taking in the view or watching from our fabulous cosy corners, everyone found the eclipse absolutely fascinating. It was also lovely to hear stories and memories of where everyone was when they experienced the last eclipse back in 1999. ❤️

A truly special evening filled with curiosity, conversation, memories and plenty of excitement. 🌙💫

It’s safe to say the 2026 eclipse has given us another wonderful memory to treasure at Heathland House!

📸 Behind the Lens at Heathland House! 📸

Recently at Heathland House, we gave our residents the opportunity to step behind the lens and experience photography from a whole new perspective!

With our photography expert, Jess, on hand to guide and encourage them, our residents explored everything from lighting and angles to capturing that perfect shot. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, experimenting, and enjoying a truly hands-on experience.

And we think you’ll agree… they did a pretty fantastic job! 👏📷

This week, our latest adventure took us to the wonderful Wimborne Model Town where we enjoyed a truly nostalgic trip down memory lane! 🏡✨

For one of our lovely married couples, the visit was especially meaningful as they reminisced about the familiar shops, restaurants, and banks they used to visit together. It was lovely to see so many memories come flooding back.

A huge thank you to the fantastic volunteers at Wimborne Model Town, who generously gave their time to share fascinating stories, local history, and interesting facts that made our visit even more special.

One of the standout moments was admiring the beautiful wedding scene inside the incredibly detailed Wimborne Minster—a display that captured everyone's attention.

It was a wonderful day filled with smiles, memories, and great company, and one that was thoroughly enjoyed by all! 💙

A few weeks ago, we celebrated World Ice Cream Day in the sweetest way! 🍦☀️

A huge thank you to Cherry Ices Ice Cream Van for visiting Heathland with an incredible selection of frozen treats. From classic Mr Whippy cones to delicious fruit-flavoured sundaes and indulgent Pick & Mix Special Sundaes, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

Our residents had a fantastic time choosing their favourite ice creams, sharing smiles, and reminiscing as the familiar ice cream van tunes filled the air. It was a wonderful afternoon full of laughter, happy memories, and plenty of sweet treats.

And of course, our amazing Heathland team also enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream while continuing to work so hard caring for our residents during the recent heatwave. Thank you for everything you do! 💙
