Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, our bright and cheery home has been carefully designed to stimulate memory and enjoyment.

Residents at Fernhill enjoyed a wonderful trip to Poole Park, where they climbed aboard the much-loved Mini Railway for a journey through the beautiful park.

There were smiles all round as everyone admired the scenery, spotted wildlife and waved to visitors along the way. Afterwards, the group relaxed beside the lake before treating themselves to delicious ice creams in the sunshine.

The railway brought back some lovely memories too. Companion Ann-Marie remembered riding it with her parents as a child, while Gay enjoyed revisiting the park and reminiscing about walks there with her husband.

Anne summed up the day perfectly: “Such a lovely experience.”

A wonderful afternoon of friendship, sunshine and happy memories. 💛

🧤🌿 Gloves on, litter pickers ready and team spirit in full swing!

Colleagues from Fernhill and Amberwood House joined together for a community litter pick around Ferndown.

We created the Community Choir at Fernhill as we see first-hand how music can support memory, wellbeing, and a sense of self for people living with dementia

These relaxed gatherings offer a safe, supportive space to enjoy music together - whether through singing, listening, or simply being part of a shared experience.

A beautiful afternoon of music and friendship at Fernhill! 🎶🌿

Residents from Fernhill and The Aldbury came together for our monthly Community Choir with Fiona, filling the garden with singing, smiles and plenty of laughter.

June even took to the dance floor, while everyone enjoyed favourite songs accompanied by Fiona’s guitar.

The afternoon finished with a traditional tea of scones, cream and strawberries - the perfect ending to a wonderful community celebration. 🍓

A sweet celebration for World Chocolate Day at Fernhill! 🍫

Residents enjoyed watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, sampling a delicious selection of chocolates and reminiscing over vintage Cadbury wrappers. From Fruit & Nut to Blue Riband, everyone had a favourite to share!

A wonderful afternoon of chocolate, conversation and happy memories.

We're still smiling as we look back on our Summer Fayre, where residents, loved ones, colleagues, and visitors came together to enjoy a fantastic afternoon.

With a fun circus theme, great entertainment, and a special visit from a local group of bikers, there was something to put a smile on everyone's face!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and helped make it such a wonderful occasion. We hope you enjoy looking back at some of the highlights ☀️🏍️

Congratulations to Lesley and Hugh on their 30th Wedding Anniversary! ❤️

Their special day at Fernhill was filled with music from Bee Chumley, family, laughter and a delicious anniversary cake. Surrounded by residents, friends and loved ones, it was a wonderful celebration of 30 happy years together.

Fernhill residents had a fantastic day out at Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park 🐴

They met Shire horses, watched a harnessing demo, fed the animals and even enjoyed a picnic lunch in the sunshine. Monica was especially happy spending time with the horses and even got to sit on a blue tractor!

A very special Ruby Wedding celebration at Fernhill Care Home ❤️

Richard and Pat marked 40 years of marriage with a beautifully decorated room, red roses, cake and music from The Carpenters, including their wedding song “We’ve Only Just Begun.” Ann Marie also sang some of their favourite classics, making it a truly memorable afternoon.
