🍛 Friday Favourites 🍛

It's Friday, which means it's time for another **Friday Favourite**... and today we're talking **curry!**

Here at the home, our residents' top choice is a mild and creamy Chicken Korma with its rich sauce, and comforting taste, it's always a winner at mealtimes! 😋

Whether you enjoy a classic Korma, a Chicken Tikka Masala, a fiery Madras, or a spicy Jalfrezi, everyone has their own favourite when it comes to curry.

🎶 A Wonderful Afternoon with Retro Rita! ☀️💙

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Retro Rita to Ferndown Nursing Home for an afternoon of music and entertainment.

She certainly brought the sunshine with her, filling the lounge with familiar songs, smiles and plenty of singing along. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the music and spending time together.

A big thank you to Retro Rita for another fantastic performance—we're already looking forward to your next visit! 🎤🎵

🌟 Meet the Team Wednesday 🌟

This week we'd like to introduce Shubham, one of our dedicated Care Assistants. 💙

Shubham has been part of the Ferndown Nursing Home family since the beginning of 2024, and in that time he has become a much-loved and valued member of our team.

With his kind nature, Shubham has built wonderful relationships with both our residents and his colleagues. He's always happy to offer a helping hand and take the time to get to know the people he supports.

His positive attitude, compassion and willingness to go the extra mile make him a real asset to our home, and we're very grateful to have him as part of the team.

Thank you, Shubham, for everything you do. Your dedication and kindness make a real difference to the lives of our residents every single day. 💙👏

❤️ Moments That Matter ❤️

Some of the most meaningful moments aren't planned at all—they happen naturally.

Today, Doris enjoyed spending time with David and his wife, Sylvia, sitting together on the patio outside David's room. While David caught up with the newspaper, there was plenty of conversation, laughter and time to simply enjoy each other's company in the fresh air.

These quiet moments of companionship are just as important as our organised activities. Whether it's sharing a story, enjoying a cup of tea or relaxing together in the sunshine, it's the friendships and connections made every day that help make Ferndown Nursing Home feel like home. 💙

Of course, alongside our planned activities, there's always time for a cup of tea, a stroll in the garden, a friendly chat or simply enjoying each other's company.

🎤✨ Yesterday's entertainment with Steve Linn had a very special guest performer!

Our lovely resident, Sylvia, joined Steve in singing *What a Wonderful World*, and what a beautiful performance it was. 💙 Her wonderful voice brought smiles to everyone's faces and made the afternoon even more memorable.

This week we'd like to introduce Shephali, one of our wonderful Cooks and Care Assistants. 💙

Since joining the Ferndown Nursing Home family in December, Shephali has become a valued member of the team. She works incredibly hard, is always willing to lend a hand wherever she's needed, and brings a positive attitude to everything she does.

Whether she's preparing delicious meals in the kitchen or supporting our residents with their daily care, Shephali's kindness, dedication and teamwork shine through every day. Her willingness to help and caring nature have made her a much-liked colleague among both residents and staff alike.

🎶 Music, Smiles & Great Company 🎶

We had a wonderful morning welcoming Malcolm back to Ferndown Nursing Home! 🎤💙

Residents enjoyed an entertaining performance in the lounge, with plenty of singing along, tapping feet and smiling faces. Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, sparking memories and creating moments of joy, and today's visit certainly did just that.

A big thank you to Malcolm for another fantastic morning of entertainment. We always look forward to seeing you!
