Chronic pain... A wee personal one.
Mechty this last year has been quite rough behind the scenes and today I have hit a bit of a peak of frustration as my back has jolted back a few steps, yet again. I've been struggling with sciatica/slipped disc/who really knows for over a year and a half now and this last year in particular has been a real struggle.
The reality of being self employed means there is nae sick leave. I mean, there is but Gut Feelings doors would be closing too. It has been extra poor timing as I am more alone in the business this year than I have been in quite a few years - many issues have been highlighted in my working movements!
There have been plenty moments where I have wished I was employed just so that I could actually take the rest that my body needs. So many have offered to help but sadly it's just not that straightforward, as self employed folks will know.
Tonight's dinner has had to be cancelled as a result as I pushed it a weeee bitty too hard yesterday and today I'm needing to listen in a little. Sorry for the rollercoaster of consistency! Managing things (mainly) alone alongside the reality of life, land management and all that is required outside of work means that it is incredibly hard to stick to consistent rhythms at times.
Thanks for understanding and sticking with me. Here's to easing back pain!
