It’s been a busy week with a mix of massaging, 1:1 swimming lessons and of course my full time job, looking after little Miss. We got up early yesterday and headed off for a swim to Loch Lubnaig. We worked on our star floats and front crawl but I was silly and forgot to pack the goggles 🏊🏻‍♀️

I’m just back from a great few days away in Aviemore doing my STA open water safety course. Sarah from Beyond the Water was amazing and I’m happy to say I passed. Always love the swim cap face lift 🏊🏻‍♀️ and thanks to The Darcey Sunshine Foundation for our boiled egg swim caps.

After watching Keith Brymer Jones on The Great Pottery Throw Down for years I’ve always wanted to try throwing my own creation. So on Saturday I went to Made in Stirling and gave it my best shot. Hannah MacKintosh was absolutely brilliant explaining the whole process and guiding us from start to finish. I even managed to make a bowl!

I managed to get out today and pick some elderflower heads. It’s best to pick them on a warm dry day and they have been few and far between the past few weeks. I also picked some wild rose to try and make some elderflower and wild rose cordial. I wish you could smell through photos, the kitchen smells delicious.

What do you like to forage and make at this time of the year?

It was an absolute pleasure to help facilitate this event with Swim-IT Swimming Club and The Darcey Sunshine Foundation.

What an amazing turn out and great awareness raised around water safety, especially as it’s National drowning prevention week.
