This lovely message landed in our inbox on Friday… and honestly, it really made our week. 🥰

Lee from London placed his very first order with us and was kind enough to tell us what he thought when it arrived.

From the speedy delivery and careful packaging, to the little free soap we include with every first order, it seems we got the New Dawn welcome just right. 🌿

There’s a story behind the name New Dawn… 🌿

And no, it’s not just because my name happens to be Dawn! 😉

I thought it was time I told you the real story...

When I started New Dawn, the name had two meanings.

The first was about what I wanted to create - a new gentler, more natural way to care for your skin and hair, using beautiful ingredients from nature.

But the second meaning was much more personal.

And, as it turns out, that’s where the name really began to make sense…

It was about me.

For years, I was Mum, wife, daughter, sister… always busy looking after everyone else.

And somewhere along the way, I lost sight of Dawn.

Starting New Dawn gave me a way back to my creativity, my confidence and the things that made me feel like me.

It reminded me how important it is to make a little space for yourself too.

Sometimes it’s simply washing your face at the end of a long day. Taking a few quiet minutes in the bath. Massaging a little cream into your skin. Breathing deeply and allowing yourself to slow down.

Those little moments matter.

Because when we’re so busy caring for everyone else, it’s easy to forget that we matter too.

That’s what New Dawn means to me.

Not just a new beginning in the way we care for our skin and hair, but a new beginning for ourselves.

And perhaps that’s why the name still feels just as right to me over 20 years later.

Our garden at home is full of wild flowers and is buzzing with bees and butterflies.

I'm afraid membership of the Soil Association is too expensive for small family businesses like ours but we only use certified organic ingredients in the products we make ourselves because we're in love with nature and really want to support the growers that are too 💚🐞💚🐬💚🐝💚🌿💚

Sometimes business gives you moments you'll never forget.

When I was growing up, I used to help deliver milk to The Old Schoolhouse on Saturday mornings. Fast forward all these years and our family business is now providing the toiletries for their guests.

For a true taste of the Welsh sea we recommend our Pembrokeshire Platter – best enjoyed on the beach with a glass of something cold.

The beach wind definitely won the battle with my hair that day... 🤣
