If you live with chronic pelvic pain, please consider taking part in this research

What is the research about?
This online survey, which takes around 15-20 minutes to complete, explores the way that people with chronic pelvic pain understand their identity. In particular, it explores whether this is linked to social support, mental health, pain beliefs, living according to values and the impact of pain on day-to-day life.

What is chronic pelvic pain?
Although there are different definitions, this research is focused on pain lasting 6 months or more in the lower abdomen or pelvis that is related to (a) gynaecological condition(s). Examples include endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, and polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) among others. You do not need a diagnosis to participate in this research. If your pain is suspected to be due to a gynaecological cause then you can take part. You can take part whether your pain is continuous or if it comes and goes.

Can I take part?
If you…
•          are 18 years old or over
•          experience pelvic pain of suspected or diagnosed gynaecological origin
•          have been experiencing pelvic pain for 6 months or more (continuous or intermittent)
•          are fluent in English

…then we would love you to take part. Participation is voluntary, anonymous and you are free to leave the survey at any time.

Why do clinicians fuss so much about high blood pressure, when you may be feeling totally fine? 💪

Like any muscle, if you over exercise the heart ❤️ it can become damaged❤️‍🩹. High blood pressure puts strain on the heart, it hardens blood vessels and along with other risk factors such as high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes & genetics, it can accelerate cardiovascular disease- meaning your risk of heart attacks, stroke, erectile dysfunction & dementia increase. ⬆️

It is a silent but manageable condition.

So know your numbers- the aim is for a BP of 135/85 or under. Please let us know if yours is higher! ⬆️

Spent hours at the gym or walking around in sweaty socks? You could be at risk for athlete’s foot – one of the most common fungal infections!

If you already have it, don’t ignore it! Otherwise, the fungus might spread or get worse!

But don’t worry – most cases of athlete’s foot can be treated with over-the-counter antifungal creams.
