Students starting their **first year at university are around 7 times more likely** to develop Meningococcal B (MenB) disease than young people of the same age who don't attend university.
**You may be eligible if you:**

Were born between **1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008**

Were born on or after **21 July 2001** and are starting university for the first time this autumn

Were born on or after **21 July 2001** and are starting a residential further education college for the first time this autumn
๐ก๏ธ **2 doses are needed**, at least **28 days apart**, so it's important to book early to ensure you're protected before term starts.

**17 and 18-year-olds can book now** via the **NHS National Booking Service**.

Meningitis B can become life-threatening within hours, but vaccination provides excellent protection. The UK infant programme has already led to around a **75% reduction in MenB cases** in vaccinated groups.
