In Seasonal Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine, late summer belongs to the earth element - a gentle pause between the expansive energy of summer and the inward turn of autumn. 🍂
Earth energy is grounding, steady and nourishing, encouraging us to feel rooted and centred. It invites us to gather our energy, reflect on what has unfolded, and prepare for the months ahead. 🧘‍♀️

The stomach and spleen organs are associated with this season, representing not only digestion and food, but how we take in, process and assimilate our thoughts, feelings and experiences. Too much thinking, worrying or mental clutter can leave us feeling unsettled in the gut, when we are able to process things with ease, helped by movement and breath, we may be able to gain a sense of feeling more balanced and nourished.

Today, we explored a grounding, centering practice, working into the stomach and spleen meridians.

I’m especially grateful for the wonderfully understanding and compassionate yogis today - and who join me each week to make these sessions possible. Thank you 💛

Lovely to see our yogis come back together after a little time away from class. 🫶🏻

Our practice was slower today, originally intended for a warm summer session, but it felt perfectly aligned with the late summer season we’re moving through. It offered a gentle opportunity to ground and centre ourselves after the vibrant energy of summer, while softly guiding us towards the quieter, more inward energy of autumn.

(See the legs up the wall infographic too 🤗)

With no yoga class today, I enjoyed a beautiful walk with my lovely friend instead, where we paused to look at the still waters edge.🌾🥰

As we move into the Late Summer in Seasonal Yoga, this brief transition belongs to the Earth element - a time to ground, nourish and return to our centre.

Like a still lake, we can soften the need to strive and instead notice what has already been gathered from the fullness of summer. 🌿

Root down. Digest what we’ve experienced. Cultivate self-worth, contentment and inner security.

A gentle pause before we turn inward toward autumn. 🍂

The Total Solar Eclipse in Leo activates the axis of personal power, heart-centered living, and direct self-expression. Solar Eclipses act as high-speed catalysts that close old chapters and open new baselines, and in Leo, the focus lands squarely on where you have been dimming your light to keep the peace. This lunation pulls back the curtain on anywhere you are still seeking external validation, forcing a quick and decisive shift toward genuine self-respect.

The shift happening right now isn't about becoming a totally different person overnight. It is about dropping the exhausting habits you adopted back when you thought you had to fight to be chosen, heard, or understood. As this eclipse clears out old noise, notice how much lighter you feel when you stop managing things that were never yours to control. The clarity arriving now is solid, grounding, and yours to keep.

Happiness is.. The lovely yogis who join me each week to practice yoga. Thank you. 🤗

Following our summer asana practice today, we also enjoyed a Sama Vritti Pranayama (Box breath - breath practice) to help us balance the body's energy and calm the mind.

Lovely! Happy weekend to all. 🫶🏻

We're not necessarily here just to do; we're here to be - to become the best, most authentic version of ourselves.
Life isn't measured by how much we accomplish, but by who we become. Sometimes it's not about doing more, but about being more - more present, more compassionate, more curious, and more fully, authentically ourselves. 🫶🏻
