So this week I’ve been busy with the most wonderful patients, but this has been my highlight.

COMPOSITE NAIL BRACING.

A fantastic result for one of my patients following the commencement of composite nail bracing treatment.
We are still early into the treatment plan but all is going so well.
This patient had been experiencing pain from an involuted toenail for several years, affecting her comfort and daily activities. Following a full assessment and application of a composite nail brace, she has already reported significant relief and is enjoying her feet being pain free for the 1st time in many years. She is even excited at the possibility of wearing sandals and some nail polish to show off her pain free feet.

Composite nail bracing is a safe, non-invasive treatment that gently corrects the curvature of the nail as it grows, reducing pressure on the surrounding skin and helping to prevent ongoing discomfort. It is an excellent alternative to surgery for many patients suffering from curved, involuted, or ingrown toenails.

Seeing patients regain comfort and confidence so quickly is one of the most rewarding aspects of foot health care.

Today I had the pleasure of treating a very brave 14-year-old patient who regularly takes part in barefoot sports and has been struggling with painful corns.

Despite being understandably nervous about the unknown and what the treatment would involve, they remained calm throughout. I explained the treatment fully, made a plan of action with her, and she took it all in brilliantly with great maturity and understanding.

What stood out most was not only their bravery during treatment, but also the intelligent conversation we shared. Listening to them talk so passionately about their future goals and ambitions was genuinely inspiring. The enthusiasm, determination, and focus they already have at such a young age is something to be proud of.

It’s easy to forget sometimes that even the most mature young people can still feel vulnerable and scared in situations like this. Today was a reminder of how important reassurance, patience, and kindness are within healthcare.

Whatever the future holds for this young lady, I have no doubt she will put her best foot forward every step of the way 👣

Feeling incredibly lucky to do the job I love as a Foot Health Practitioner.

Every day I get the privilege of helping my patients stay comfortable, mobile and pain free and sometimes I’m treated to views like these along the way. From patients Dairy cows to beautiful coastal sea views from a patients living room, it really reminds me how fortunate I am to work within such lovely communities.

Had a lovely patient in clinic recently and he always brings laughter and joy with him.
He sat in the waiting room for his appointment and when I saw him he said, “Jayne you have to help my feet are really swollen” I immediately looked down as he’s feet are in good condition usually to find this! 😂🦶👣
