Fibromyalgia - How did I escape it? I didn’t I manage it ❤️🩹
The hidden illness that completely disrupts your life, the vicious cycle 🔁 of good days, bad days, weeks and months. Putting your belongings in the bin? …it’s a popular one! 🤣🤣 Fibrofog. The incredible range of symptoms, you look ok, people think you’re lazy and you think you’re going mad!
In 2013 I was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia this was before my weight was too heavy, I knew I wasn’t going mad. The first thing was acceptance the second was it disrupting my life, the third was me managing it, the fourth was me standing up to it.
I have a personal firm belief Fibromyalgia is rooted from an exhausted nervous system. I began gentle yoga, the way in which yoga works eased muscle pain and stiffness the energy work shifted and healed lingering energy, the breathing techniques regulate the nervous system and slow down the mind, my mind is back as sharp as ever. Today I’m pain free, sometimes I get fatigue, because of how I look and how my body moves people are surprised if I say “yeh I know and I understand”
Managing the symptoms and you must not feel guilty -
💫 Rest when you need to rest
💫 Disappoint people - learn to say no if you don’t feel up for that party, coffee or day out
💫 Pace yourself - if you overdo things you’ll pay for it the next day
💫 Don’t take on other people’s negative energy
💫 Take gentle movements - walking, seated exercise, swimming which supports the body weight
💫 Just sit or lay down and breathe - listen to music, podcasts, meditation…anything
Look out of my future work coming in the Autumn 🍂 where I’ll do my best to get you absolute Warriors moving gently again 🙌💫🙏
