Sometimes "doing yoga" can feel like a stretch, another thing on the to do list of daily life and sometimes it can feel like a lot... and then I am reminded, I don't do yoga, yoga is a way of life, it's the taking time to listen to the breath, to take a pause, to move with intention, to consider and look at thoughts and behaviour, it is a moment of silence and contemplation of honesty with self and others and it is a focus, a clarity, an action.... it isn't doing... it is living well. It is feeling sun, the wind or the rain on my face, grass between my fingers or toes.
Today I had a lot to do. All the "stuff". Yoga (asana, the postures) wasn't on the list!
What was on the list was outside work on the glamping site, family, home...
And in that work, suddenly the yoga found me. I noticed how movement was easier through my asana practice, not convoluted, complex postures...just movement, alignment, ease, strength everyday practical movement. Space in my knees as I knelt on the earth. Length in my spine. Relaxation in my shoulders.
The rushing to get things done faster abided. The rushing thoughts of what was next was silenced. I found a focus. And in that silence, focus and concentration...I took a breath. I listened to rhe sounds around me. I paused. I found my focus and I got the work done. I also felt better. I felt calmed.
That's yoga.
For me, time in nature brings me back to myself, it makes me connected to myself and everything else in this glorious world!
Today, another day of loving yoga in my world.
