Learn how to protect your eyes whilst watching the partial solar eclipse!

We probably shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t look directly at the sun. Looking directly at the sun without the right protection can cause permanent damage to your eyesight – so you need to take care. Remember, your normal sunglasses may look great, but they won't cut it.

An amber heat-health alert is in place across parts of England from today until 14 August.

During an amber alert, hot weather can put more people’s health at risk – not just those who are usually more vulnerable.

Older people, young children and people with existing health conditions may be particularly at risk.

Take extra care and look out for others who may struggle in the heat.

Although FVMC continues to be busy, we have still managed to squeeze in some celebrations for a team members 40th 🥳, some of us went for a lovely Sunday morning walk 👣 around Bristol, have enjoyed some beautiful sunny days ☀ and as always, supported the Chipping Sodbury 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer team at Chipping Sodbury parkrun on the last Saturday of each month, who at the end of July had a fundraiser for the charity. 🚗

Heat-Health warning for today and tomorrow.

Starting tomorrow, amber and yellow heat-health alerts have been issued across most of the country. They are in place for the 29 and 30 July.

Some people – particularly the elderly, very young, or those with existing health conditions – face a real risk to their health and need to take steps to keep cool.
