Marilene’s movement journey began with Yoga in 2003, followed by Pilates in 2005. Between 2006 and 2009, she deepened her understanding of Yoga and trained with MT and Roberto Mazzarella at the Yoga Therapy College in Houston, Texas. She later explored the supportive use of props with Iyengar teacher Laura Webster at the Omni Yoga Centre in Kingwood. In 2009, Marilene expanded her holistic practic
e by qualifying as a Reflexologist with Patricia McPherson at Derwen Therapies Reflexology Academy in Houston. She also completed workshops in Indian Head Massage and Aromatherapy. In July 2013, she continued to broaden her movement practice by completing Nia White Belt Training in Burntisland, Scotland. Since 2017, Marilene has been teaching matwork Pilates, sharing her knowledge with care and encouragement. She completed training with the Brigid McCarthy Pilates Studio in Edinburgh. In 2025, she added Reformer Pilates and Spine Corrector/Arc Barrel training with APPI, continuing to enrich the support she offers clients. During 2026, Marilene completed the Whole Body Pelvic Health teachers’ mentorship programme with Claire Sparrow, international best-selling author, second-generation Pilates teacher and Polestar Educator. She also completed Wunda Chair and Ped-O-Pul training, further developing her ability to support whole-body movement and confidence. Being a Yoga Therapist, third generation and Whole Body Pelvic Health Pilates teacher, Marilene is passionate about continuing to learn and explore different movement methods, so she can help each client find a mindful, functional way of moving that feels supportive in everyday life. Her gentle, thoughtful approach can help reduce pain, build strength, improve focus and enhance overall well-being, leaving clients feeling nourished, connected and revived. Marilene offers Yoga and Pilates large and small group classes along with 1:1 sessions locally and privately. All are taught in a calm, welcoming and supportive environment for people of most ages and ability levels.
