POWER IS PART OF HEALTHY MOVEMENT ⚡️💜
When we think about training for strength, we often focus on lifting heavier, moving better and building muscle.
But what about producing force quickly?
That’s where plyometrics come in.
Plyometric exercises train your body to absorb and produce force rapidly. They can help develop power, coordination, stiffness, reactivity and athleticism — qualities that are useful whether you’re an athlete, a weekend warrior, or simply want to keep moving well as you get older.
This landmine split push jerk is a great example. It combines a rapid lower-body drive with an upper-body press while challenging you to coordinate movement through a split stance.
You don’t need to be an elite athlete to benefit from plyometrics. They can be progressed and scaled to suit your training age, goals and current ability.
Strength is important. But being able to use that strength quickly matters too.
So, if your training is currently all slow and controlled, consider adding a little spring to your programme. 🏃♂️💥
As always, the right exercise, intensity and volume will depend on the individual.
