What a great afternoon we had supporting the Rotary Club of Frinton-on-Sea at their annual Frinton Summer Theatre event for local seniors.

The cast of the show 'Unfriend' were superb, such a great British comedy, that had everyone laughing out loud - well done for the 'phone' ad-lib too - genius! 🤳

Our wonderful Home Instead volunteers and Kinder Essex Tendring helped to take some 30 guests along to enjoy the afternoon matinee, joining over 100 other guests.

Well done to Mike, Bob and the Rotarians for all their hard work, to the front of house team at the theatre for accommodating everyone and all those working behind the scenes. Great team work! 👌🙏🫶

In almost 90% of cases, the first call to a potential home care provider is not made by the person who needs the care: it is made by their daughter, their son or their partner.

When you’re making decisions for someone you love, it helps to hear honest feedback from people who have been there too. 💚

This week we received this lovely comment from the family of one of our new clients. It’s a reminder that great care extends beyond the client, giving families the reassurance that their loved one is safe, supported and in caring hands.

Sometimes the best conversations start with a simple question... "Fancy a cuppa?" ☕💜

This International Friendship Day, we're celebrating the friendships that blossom through the little moments that mean so much.

For Care Pro Chelsea and client Mike, a trip to their local favourite, The Corner Lounge, is about far more than enjoying a great cup of tea. It's a chance to chat, laugh, share stories and enjoy each other's company – proving that friendship often begins over a brew.

At Home Instead, we know that companionship is just as important as practical support. Those conversations over coffee, the shared smiles and the familiar routines help build trust, reduce loneliness and create friendships that enrich both lives.

Here's to every cuppa that brings people together. Happy International Friendship Day! ❤️☕

"Care begins with compassion, but it grows into something even more special —friendship."

That's what this lovely photo of Care Pro Paula with the wonderfully inspiring Katharine demonstrates. Paula and Katharine have struck up such a great friendship over the years that we have been supporting Katharine. 😁

Katharine said “I love the friendships I've made with all my care team.” 💗

Those friendships lay the foundations for a wonderful care experience. 🙏😁

"Friendship is the architecture that holds life together, so build it fiercely and maintain it always." — Unknown

Some friendships start with a shared laugh and mutual sense of humour. Others start with a crossword, a song, a walk or knowing exactly how someone likes their tea. 💖

This International Day of Friendship, we are celebrating the relationships built between our clients and Care Professionals, those built between colleagues and those we build within the community.

Here are a few images that show all of those friendships and the smiles they bring.

What does friendship mean to you?

It was such a pleasure, this week, to accompany one of our lovely clients to Harwich Sing Tendring Voices monthly Golden Oldies singalong session held at Thorpe-le-Soken Baptist Church.

These joyful get togethers are led by the lovely Clare Leach. Her knowledge of songs and music is amazing and she picks such beautiful tunes to sing along to, stirring emotions and raising voices. 😊🎤🎼🪇

Clare has teamed up with the Electric Palace Cinema Harwich to run two dementia friendly, singalong sessions in August, which include two favourite musical films - Hello Dolly and Grease. See the flyer for how to book your spot. 👌

Thirty years of friendship, laughter and community. ❤️

We were delighted to present a £500 donation today, alongside Home Instead Charities, to the wonderful Dumont Luncheon Club as they celebrated their 30th anniversary. 🙏

Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, the club brings around 80 older people together each week for a delicious home-cooked meal, companionship and the chance to stay connected. It's so much more than a lunch club – it's a place where friendships flourish and no one has to feel alone. 🫶

Congratulations to everyone involved for three decades of making such a positive difference to the lives of older people in St Osyth and Point Clear. Thank you for everything you do – here's to many more years. 🥂💜

If you'd like to support the Dumont Luncheon Club through volunteering or a donation, they'd love to hear from you.
