Happy Birthday, Jenny! 🎂🎁🥳

Jenny enjoyed a lovely celebration with her family yesterday, and today we were delighted to continue the celebrations here at the home with cake, gift and birthday good wishes.

Jenny is such a sweet, smiley lady who always brightens our day. One of the loveliest things about Jenny is seeing the wonderful bond she shares with her husband. The love they have for each other is truly heartwarming, and we always enjoy seeing them together around the home, still so devoted and loved-up after all these years. ❤️

We hope you've had a fantastic birthday, Jenny, surrounded by all the people who care about you. Wishing you a year filled with happiness, love, and plenty of smiles! 🥰🎁🎈

Happy Monday everyone! 🌱

Wishing you all a fantastic start to the week!

We're looking at starting a regular volunteer gardening group and would love to hear from anyone who might be interested in getting involved. We already have some keen, knowledgeable, and capable gardeners here, and it would be great to bring together a friendly group to work together outside once a week, or perhaps once a fortnight.

If you enjoy gardening, being outdoors, or simply lending a hand, please get in touch. We'd also be grateful if you could share this post with any family members or friends who might like to join us.

🌼 Weekly Round-Up at the Home 🌼

What a fantastic week we've had!

Our residents have been keeping busy with lots of fun activities, including ball games, gardening, reminiscing, and baking. There has been plenty of laughter, teamwork, and enjoyment throughout the week.

A special mention goes to Peter, who has worked tirelessly planting and tending to our garden. With Terry's wonderful help and support, the garden is now producing some of the most delicious fresh herbs for everyone to enjoy.

On Thursday, Peter harvested our beautiful strawberries with Jill's help. Rachel then worked her magic in the kitchen, adding the freshly picked strawberries to her delicious homemade cheesecake, which was enjoyed by all. The residents also got involved in baking a tasty traybake, topped with even more of our homegrown strawberries!

It's been wonderful to see everyone enjoying the fruits of their hard work and spending time together. Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a memorable week. We can't wait to see what next week brings! 🍓🍰🌿☀️

We had a fantastic visit from GFitness yesterday! 💪😊

Eddie led a fun exercise session focused on mobility and coordination. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed getting involved, staying active, and having a good laugh!

Our residents had a great time playing Balloon Volleyball this morning. 🎈🏐

There was lots of laughter and friendly competition, and some residents showed off some impressive coordination and teamwork skills! It's a fantastic activity for encouraging movement, exercise, and social interaction while having plenty of fun.

The afternoon continued with a visit from one of our regular singers, Sarah, who had everyone singing along to a wonderful selection of familiar favourites. 🎶

Less than a week to go until the Colbury staff and the team here at the home set off on our sponsored hike to raise money for Alzheimer's research and support.

At the weekend, the residents enjoyed a fantastic day baking together as a team, creating a delicious sponge traybake topped with sweet icing and decorations. Everyone got involved from start to finish — measuring ingredients, mixing the cake batter, spreading the icing, and adding the finishing touches.

It was wonderful to see residents working together, helping one another, sharing laughs, and enjoying the social side of baking. The activity brought back happy memories for many and created plenty of smiles around the table.

Once the traybake was finished, everyone sat down together to enjoy a well-earned slice with a cup of tea, and it was delicious! A lovely afternoon filled with fun, teamwork, and lots of delicious cake. 🍰😊

Last Friday, we had a wonderful VE Day tea party at the home! 🇬🇧✨

A fantastic afternoon filled with music, dancing, singing, laughter, and plenty of delicious cakes and treats. A huge thank you to the talented Singer Songbird Amanda for coming in and entertaining everyone so beautifully — our residents absolutely loved it! 🎶💃

Chef Rachel did an incredible job preparing such lovely refreshments, and we are so grateful to all our amazing staff for their hard work in making the day so special for everyone.

It was truly a celebration to remember ❤️
