It's Good 2 Talk

It's Good 2 Talk Community-led peer support creating safe spaces to talk and be heard.
(1)

Supporting growth, healing, connection, and the social side of being human — while challenging mental health stigma. We have three main aims, which are:
1/To provide peer to peer mental health support in a safe, non judgmental forum.
2/To challenge and stop the stigma concerning mental health.
3/To provide services offering support, development and direction.

A conversation can change so much.

Being truly listened to, with empathy and without judgement, having your words heard and your feelings acknowledged, can make an incredible difference. Even in those moments when it feels as though nothing will help, connection has a way of bringing light into the darkest places.

If you find yourself in that place, feeling alone in the darkness, please do all you can to reach out and talk.

I've experienced both sides of it. I've been the person who sat alone in the dark, carrying everything by myself, and I've been the person who learned to speak up and communicate when life became especially difficult.

Without a doubt, I wouldn't go back to the version of me who suffered in silence.

There is someone out there who is willing to listen, who genuinely cares, even if that person is a stranger.

Please reach out.

Much love,

Nathan

It's men's group night again tonight.

No speeches.
No awkward introductions.
No pressure to talk if you don't want to.

Some people come because they're having a tough time.
Some come because they've been through tough times.
Others come because they enjoy the company and know the value of having good people around them.

Whatever your reason, you're welcome.

📍 Upstairs at Kash

A huge thank you to Kash for continuing to support what we're building and helping provide a safe space for these conversations to happen.

If you've been thinking about coming along, tonight might be the night.

I’m asking a genuine favour from people today.

Please take a moment to share this itsgd2tk GoFundMe if you can.

A lot of people see a fundraiser and think “I can’t donate much so there’s not much I can do”, but honestly, sometimes one simple share is the thing that reaches the right person at the right time. Somebody who connects with the vision, somebody who can donate, sponsor, help fund equipment, help spread the word, or open doors we couldn’t reach otherwise.

This isn’t just about buying a gazebo.

It’s about creating a visible, welcoming, safe space at community events, festivals and public places where people can stop, sit down, talk, breathe and feel less alone for a while.

It’s about creating a space people recognise and feel safe approaching.

It’s about:
• outreach
• conversations
• mental health support
• peer support
• visibility
• connection
• community

The fundraising will help us with:
• the branded gazebo itself
• tables/chairs/setup
• banners and signage
• flyers and marketing materials
• promotional equipment
• creating a professional and welcoming space people feel comfortable approaching

The bigger picture is creating something people begin recognising as a genuine support presence within the community.

A place where somebody who’s struggling might finally open up.

A place where somebody isolated might suddenly feel connected.

A place where somebody having a hard time might realise they’re not alone.

So even if you can’t donate, please consider sharing it. You genuinely never know whose timeline it could land on or who may be able to help push this vision forward in a massive way.

Thank you to everybody who already supports what we’re building. It genuinely means more than you probably realise ❤️

We are in National Volunteers Week and we are looking for volunteers.

Over the last few years, itsgd2tk has grown from a simple idea into a genuine community of people supporting one another through conversations, walks, events and shared experiences.

What started with a handful of people has now reached thousands, and as we continue growing, I'm looking to build a small team of good people around the CIC who want to help make a positive difference.

We're currently looking for volunteers in a number of areas, including:

• Safeguarding & Wellbeing Support
• Organisation & Administration
• Funding & Grants Support
• Social Media & Community Support
• Community Events Support

You don't need to be perfect.

You don't need a long list of qualifications.

Most importantly, we're looking for people who genuinely care about others, believe in community, and want to help us continue building something positive.

Whether you can offer professional experience, practical skills, creative ideas or simply your time and enthusiasm, I'd love to hear from you.

Volunteering isn't just about giving back.

It's also about being part of something meaningful, meeting great people, developing new skills and helping create real impact within our communities.

Further posts are being shared with more information about each role.

If any of the roles sound like something you'd be interested in, please send me a private message or email:

Email : [email protected]

Thank you to every volunteer, past and present, who helps make community organisations like ours possible.

Men’s Group – Tonight

If life is feeling heavy…
If you’re stressed, low, overwhelmed, or just carrying a lot quietly —
If you feel like you want me from life and not sure where to start
this space might be exactly what you need.

There’s no pressure to be anything other than yourself here.
No fixing. No labels. No judgement.
Just real people, real conversation, and space to breathe.

Tonight, It’s Good 2 Talk men’s group meets upstairs at Kash 22.

Everyone is welcome.
Left, right, somewhere in between — it doesn’t matter.
We’re all human.

What to expect

• Non-judgemental
• Friendly
• Safe space to talk
• Trustworthy
• Welcoming
• No pressure to speak

We start around 7pm and finish around 9pm,
but you’re welcome to arrive anytime in that window.

If you’re nervous about coming along — that’s completely normal.
Most people feel that way before their first time.
Often, gently pushing past that feeling is the first step toward something lighter.

Someone will be around from around 6. 30pm if you’d like to come early for a quiet chat.

Where & when we meet

We meet twice a month here in the Propaganda Room at Kash 22 — on the first and last Thursday of the month.

With thanks

We couldn’t do what we do without the support of local champions who truly get it.

A huge thank you to:
• Kash 22
• No. 5 The Barbers
• Helter Skelter
• Tributes On The Hill
Weavers Whistle

Your support helps keep these spaces open. Thank you 💚

Tributes On The Hill 2026 is coming up fast.

Mark and the family at Tribs have been big supporters of itsgd2tk for a while now, and I and some others from itsgd2tk will be there the entire weekend again this year.

It's always a fun weekend, great atmosphere and it's brilliant to connect to others, tell them about what we do, and have a space there for anyone who wants to chill out have a chat.

There are still tickets available as well so if you've not got yours, make sure to get one soon.

Community Events Support Volunteer

As itsgd2tk continues growing through walks, groups, events and wider community projects, I’m also looking for people who may want to help support the events and community side of things moving forward.

A massive part of what we do is creating spaces where people feel comfortable, included and able to just be themselves without judgement.

Whether that’s on walks, at groups, future gazebo/community events or simply helping create a welcoming atmosphere around people.

This role could involve things like:
• helping at walks, groups and events
• welcoming people and helping them feel included
• helping set up community spaces/materials
• supporting the overall atmosphere and environment
• helping with future community/festival events
• helping people feel comfortable and connected

You don’t need qualifications for this role.

What matters more is the type of person you are.

I’m looking for people who are:
• approachable
• emotionally mature
• calm and grounded
• reliable
• friendly
• good with people
• able to bring positive energy into a space

Experience in community work, events, support environments or wellbeing settings is definitely a bonus, but kindness, consistency and genuine intentions matter just as much.

This role is voluntary for now while we continue growing the CIC, support projects and wider community vision behind itsgd2tk.

We’re looking for the right people, not just lots of people.

I’ve also recently put posts out looking for support with:
• safeguarding & wellbeing
• organisation/admin
• funding & grants
• social media & community support

So if any of those roles feel like something you may be suited to as well, feel free to get in touch.

If this sounds like something you’d genuinely enjoy being involved in, send me a private message or email:

[email protected]

and let’s have a conversation.

A lot of people are carrying anger right now. Fear too. You can feel it everywhere. Online. In conversations. In the streets. Following marches, politics, division and constant outrage, many people are becoming emotionally consumed by what they hate, what they fear and who they blame.

But during mental health awareness month, I think something important needs saying.

Please do not lose yourself psychologically to the chaos around you.

Be informed, absolutely. Care about your country, your communities and your future, of course. But also protect your own mind. Protect your peace. Protect the person you are becoming.

Because anger, when constantly fed, eventually begins feeding on YOU.

It changes how you think.
How you speak.
How you see people.
How you treat yourself.
How you treat the people around you.

And before long, you can become psychologically trapped inside fear, outrage and bitterness without even realising it.

Sometimes the strongest thing a person can do is pause and honestly ask themselves:
“Who do I actually want to become from this point forward?”

Not who social media tells you to become.
Not who fear pushes you to become.
YOU.

How do you want your children to remember you?
How do you want people to experience you?
What kind of energy do you want to bring into the lives of the people around you?

The past is a statement.
The future is a question waiting for your answer.

And despite everything happening around us, we still have choices every day about the type of human being we become moving forward.

Look after your mind.
Step outside.
Breathe.
Talk.
Disconnect when needed.
Challenge your own thoughts sometimes.
Do not let outrage become your identity.

Because the world does not need more emotionally consumed people destroying themselves internally.

It needs more grounded, self-aware, compassionate human beings capable of thinking clearly whilst still holding onto their humanity.
