Some of our lovely residents enjoyed a trip out to the local Chinese yesterday! They had a wonderful time, wonderful food and wonderful company ❤️ they all returned with full tummies and smiles on their faces.

A Summer Day at Hillcrest

At Hillcrest, where the golden sunshine stays,
We chased the warmth through lazy days.
Feet dipped deep in the paddling pool,
Cool little ripples, summer’s rule.

The garden hummed with a gentle song,
With dragonflies drifting and days stretching long.
The water sparkled, the grass felt bright,
A little corner of pure delight.

Then came the feast, wrapped up with care,
Fish and chippy chips in the garden air.
Crispy bites and laughter shared,
The simple joys that showed we cared.

Bare toes drying beneath the sun,
A perfect afternoon, a peaceful one.
At Hillcrest, those moments stay—

We’re delighted to introduce Nikki Vernon, our wonderful Home Manager here at Hillcrest

Nikki brings over 11 years of leadership experience in dementia care, with a passion for delivering truly compassionate, person-centred support. She is dedicated to creating a warm, respectful environment where every resident feels valued, understood and empowered every single day.

For Nikki, care is about so much more than routine – it’s about building meaningful connections, showing empathy, and enriching the everyday experiences of those living with dementia. Her commitment to high standards and her genuine warmth make a real difference to residents, families and the whole team.

We are also incredibly proud to share that Nikki has recently received her certificate of registration – a fantastic and well-deserved achievement. Congratulations, Nikki! 🎉

Outside of work, Nikki enjoys spending quality time with her family and caring for her four dogs and lively flock of chickens – a reflection of the same nurturing and caring spirit she brings into the home each day 🐓🐾

🌸✨ What a wonderful day we had at our Care Home Open Day! ✨🌸

Our residents played a huge part in making the day so special — from helping to organise the event and creating beautiful decorations, to baking delicious treats for everyone to enjoy. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and teamwork truly brought the day to life. 💕

The home was filled with smiles, laughter, and a wonderful atmosphere as families, friends, and visitors joined us. We enjoyed fantastic entertainment from our singer, who had everyone tapping their toes, singing along, and even getting up for a dance! 🎶💃🕺

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Most importantly, we are so proud of our residents, whose talents, memories, and involvement make our home such a happy and welcoming place. ❤️
