This week, we’re saying a heartfelt thank you to all unpaid carers - family members, friends, and loved ones - who give their time, compassion and support every single day.

Your contribution is invaluable, and we recognise the difference you make, often while facing your own challenges.

This year’s theme focuses on building carer-friendly communities - reminding carers that they are not alone, and that support, advice and guidance is available.

☀️ Summer has well and truly arrived at Rowden House! 🌻 (Although the weather may have other ideas this week!)

Our residents have been making the most of the beautiful weather, spending time in the garden, watering plants, and enjoying watching everything bloom and grow. It's been a wonderful way to soak up the sunshine, enjoy the fresh air, and appreciate the simple pleasures of the season.

We've also been getting creative indoors with a variety of summertime crafts, adding plenty of colour, creativity, and seasonal cheer around the home. 🎨🌼

One of the highlights of recent weeks has been a visit from Dogs for Health, including the adorable Nelly the sausage dog. 🐾 Her visit brought lots of smiles, cuddles, laughter, and calm moments, reminding us all of the special joy that animals can bring.

It's been a lovely few weeks and a great reminder that some of life's most meaningful moments come from the simplest activities and shared experiences. 💚

🎉 Looking for some Monday Motivation? Look no further! 🎉

Join us in congratulating our amazing colleague, Kiera Ladd, for winning the Wellbeing Award at the 2026 Somerset Care Awards! 🏆✨

We are extremely grateful to Lilley's Cider for their very generous donation of 3 litres of Bee Sting cider for our residents. Their kindness helped make our Somerset Day celebrations truly special. 🍎🍻

The event was a fantastic success, with staff embracing the Somerset spirit by dressing in checked shirts, straw hats, and wellies — much to the delight of our residents! 🤠🌾

The afternoon was filled with fun and laughter, including a Somerset-themed quiz followed by the highlight of the day — a delicious cider and cheese tasting session. Residents enjoyed sampling Lilley's famous Bee Sting cider alongside a non-alcoholic mango cider option, both of which went down wonderfully well. 🧀✨

It was such a lovely social occasion and created a real sense of celebration and togetherness for everyone involved.

A huge thank you once again to Lilley's Cider for supporting our residents and helping us create such meaningful memories. 💛

A truly special day at Rowden House as Bill and Ann celebrated an incredible 70 years of marriage with a beautiful vow renewal ceremony 💕✨

Surrounded by family, residents, and staff, the couple marked this remarkable milestone with a heartfelt service filled with love, reflection, and joy. Miriam and Chris from Trinity Church kindly officiated, leading a personal and meaningful ceremony that honoured Bill and Ann’s lifelong commitment to one another. 👰 🤵

It was a touching occasion for everyone, and a wonderful reminder of the power of love, partnership, and shared memories over a lifetime. 💍

Congratulations to Bill and Ann on 70 amazing years together – an inspiration to us all 💖

Easter weekend at Rowden House was full of fun and activity 🐣 🐰 💐
Our residents enjoyed a range of celebrations, including an Easter egg hunt and egg decorating, where everyone had the chance to get creative. A highlight of the weekend was resident Geoff dressing up as the Easter Bunny and helping to deliver Easter eggs, which brought plenty of smiles. It was a lovely way for residents to come together and celebrate.

We take real pride in bringing creativity to life here at Rowden House 🎨

Our beautiful display boards - lovingly created by one of our fantastic activity organisers alongside our amazing residents - are always bursting with colour, personality, and teamwork. Recently, we’ve been busy creating even more artwork to brighten them up, and we’re already excitedly planning a special Easter display 🐣🌸

Alongside the creativity, there was also time for a little fun and imagination as residents worked together to build LEGO boats 🚤 - because play and creativity go hand in hand.
