Feeling reflective for a good reason…

After many years of welcoming you into my little clinic space, it’s time for a change. From 1st September, The Babington Clinic will have a new home at Emerald Florence in Frome.

My clinic days will also be changing to:
Tuesdays 9am–4pm
Saturdays 9am–2pm

The new space gives you a little more too. A beautiful large reception area, refreshments, toilet facilities and a fantastic team around me whose work and approach align so well with my own.

But the important things aren’t changing. Same me. Same care. Same booking system. Same clinical attention. Just a new home and a new chapter for The Babington Clinic.

I can’t wait to welcome you there 🤍

Microneedling is everywhere right now… but not all microneedling is the same. The device matters, the products matter, but it’s the person using it that makes the biggest difference 🧑‍⚕️

Before we even start, I choose the treatment solution based on what your skin actually needs. Pigmentation, texture, redness, scarring or tightening. There’s no one serum for everyone. I may incorporate actives such as exosomes, PDRN, peptides, or other targeted skin-repair complexes depending on your concern 🧬

Every sterile ampoule is single use. One client, one treatment. Never an open dropper bottle that’s shared 🧪

I also tailor the cartridge, needle depth and speed for your skin. Think flat shoes versus stilettos. In “flat shoe” mode, we keep things more comfortable and focus on infusing the active serums into the skin for hydration, glow and overall skin health. In “stiletto” mode, we go deeper and more precise to create controlled micro-injury, which is what really stimulates collagen and remodels the skin over time. Different goals need different settings, and I adjust this as I work across different areas of your face. You do not leave the Clinic with a bleeding face! 🩸

My device also has inbuilt red LED to help calm inflammation and support recovery, so for most people it’s just one night’s downtime. 🌝

It’s these little details that add up to a treatment that’s completely personalised to you, rather than a one-size-fits-all microneedling session.

If I had to replace my skincare in town today… this is where I’d start.

✨ A simple, gentle cleanser
✨ A milky or hydrating toner
✨ One treatment for my main skin concern
✨ A moisturiser
✨ SPF
✨ An occlusive for feet, dry patches and lips
✨ A big tub of basic body moisturiser

You don’t need a 15 step routine. A few well chosen products that you’ll actually use consistently will usually get you much further.

Agree with my capsule skincare wardrobe, or would you swap something out?

Thanks and

5 things worth your money… An Aesthetic Nurse’s summer edit!
Some of these might ruffle a few feathers… but if it were my money, this is where I’d spend it. How about you? What would you swap out?

I’ve been thinking about something I read this week. The beauty industry has become obsessed with giving us more. More products, more treatments, more ingredients, more trends. We seem to think that the more choice we have, the better.

But I’m not sure that’s true. Most people who come to see me don’t need another serum or another treatment adding to the list. They usually want someone to look at everything they’re already doing and tell them what they can stop, what they can keep, and where it’s actually worth investing.

That’s probably why my clinic doesn’t offer everything. Every treatment I provide and every skincare product I stock has earned its place. If I don’t believe in it, you won’t find it here.

I spend a lot of time learning, researching and trying things because I think that’s part of my job. Not just knowing what works, but knowing what isn’t worth your time or money.

Sometimes the best advice I give is, “I’d leave that.”

When I think about it, that’s really what I’m offering. Not endless choice, but a carefully considered edit that’s tailored to you. I think that’s where the value is. Don’t you?

One of the things I hear most is, “My Botulinum Toxin just doesn’t work like it used to.” Maybe! But more often than not, that isn’t the problem.

Over time your face changes. You lose collagen, your skin becomes less firm, facial volume shifts, and new lines appear for reasons that Botulinum Toxin simply can’t fix. Yet many people keep having the same treatment and expect the same result they got five or ten years ago.

Botulinum toxin relaxes muscles. That’s what it’s brilliant at. It doesn’t tighten loose skin, replace lost volume or improve skin quality.

So if your results aren’t what they used to be, don’t jump straight to thinking you’ve become resistant or that you need bigger and bigger doses. Sometimes your face has moved on, but your treatment plan hasn’t.

The best results don’t come from doing more, but they come from recognising when it’s time to change the plan.

True resistance to botulinum toxin can happen, but it’s much less common than people think. Most of the time, there are more likely explanations worth looking at first.

This is why continuity of care matters. Consultation required before treatment to ensure appropriate.
