🎪☀️ WHAT AN AMAZING SUMMER FAYRE! ☀️🎪

What a day we’ve had! The weather was absolutely perfect, the sun was shining and Grosvenor House was full of smiles, laughter and that wonderful community spirit. ❤️

From glasses of Pimm’s in the sunshine and delicious home-baked treats, to our fantastic dancing dogs, very special visiting alpacas and SO much fun on all of our games, there really was something for everyone! 🦙🐶🍹🎯🎪

A huge THANK YOU to every single person who helped make today so special. To everyone who joined us with stalls, painted faces, performed, donated prizes, gave up their time or simply came along and supported us. We are incredibly grateful. 🥰

🇬🇧 Introducing Our Veterans Breakfast Club 🇬🇧

At Grosvenor House Care Home, we believe every veteran deserves to be recognised, remembered, and celebrated.

We are delighted to be launching our Veterans Breakfast Club, proudly hosted by Veterans for Veterans In Care – an inspiring group of veterans dedicated to working alongside care homes to find and support our "Forgotten Army", honoring their service, sharing stories, and creating meaningful connections.

Following our launch, the Breakfast Club will be held every second Friday of the month, providing a welcoming space where veterans can come together to enjoy a delicious breakfast, reminisce, make new friendships, and receive the recognition they so richly deserve.

The excitement is building here at Grosvenor House as preparations are well underway for what promises to be an unforgettable afternoon! 🎉

Our team have been busy preparing games, organising stalls, wrapping some fantastic prizes, and putting the finishing touches to all the circus-themed fun. We can’t wait to welcome everyone for an afternoon packed with laughter, entertainment and community spirit.

🎓 Inspiring the next generation at Grosvenor House! 💙

Over the past week, we have had the pleasure of welcoming three fantastic secondary school students to Grosvenor House for their work experience placements, giving them the opportunity to explore the many rewarding careers within the health and social care sector.

Erin spent time with a variety of our teams, including housekeeping, nursing and management, gaining a real insight into the different roles that make our home so special. She shared that she has learnt so much about the varying levels of support people need and how important it is to adapt your approach and skills to meet each person’s individual needs.

Caleb and Corey had a particular interest in hospitality and worked alongside Mike and our wonderful kitchen team. They learnt about health and safety, working in a busy kitchen environment, and preparing delicious, nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.

Caleb even baked some of the tastiest banana bread muffins we’ve ever had the pleasure of trying! 🍌🧁

It has been a wonderful week watching all three students grow in confidence, develop new skills and embrace every opportunity with enthusiasm. They have been a real credit to themselves and their schools.

We have no doubt that whichever path they choose as they take their next steps, they have bright futures ahead of them.

Thank you, Erin, Caleb and Corey, for spending the week with us. It has been an absolute pleasure having you as part of the Grosvenor House family, and we wish you every success for the future! 💙

A very special happy birthday to our wonderful four-legged friend, Hinckley! 🥳💕

Many of you will have met Hinckley on her daily visits to Grosvenor House, and you’ll know just how much joy she brings wherever she goes. From wagging tails and happy greetings to plenty of cuddles, she never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face and brighten our day.

Thank you, Hinckley, for all the love, comfort and happiness you bring to our home. We hope your birthday is filled with lots of treats, fuss and everything you love, you certainly deserve it! 🦴🎂❤️

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls... prepare to be amazed as we bring you The Greatest Summer Fayre! Inspired by the magic of The Greatest Showman, we're creating a spectacular circus-themed afternoon that's bursting with fun for the whole family!

🎭 What can you expect?

🎯 Outdoor games and activities
🛍️ A variety of fantastic stalls
🎟️ Tombola
🎈 Plenty of family fun and entertainment throughout the afternoon!

But this day is about more than just fun and games, it's about coming together as a community to support a very special little girl.

❤️ We're raising funds for Ivy-Mai, a local little girl who has recently been diagnosed with a rare variant of mitochondrial disease called POLG disease. Sadly, there is currently no treatment or cure.

Every penny raised at The Greatest Summer Fayre will help support Ivy-Mai and her family with specialist equipment, home adaptations, care, and anything else they may need, while allowing them to focus on creating as many precious memories together as possible.

Your support, whether you come along, have a go on the games, browse the stalls, buy a tombola ticket, or simply share this post, will make a real difference.

🎪 So gather your family and friends and join us on Saturday 8th August from 12:00pm–3:00pm for an unforgettable afternoon of circus magic, community spirit, and fundraising for an incredibly worthy cause.

With the sunshine continuing, we’re making sure everyone at Grosvenor House Care Home stays cool, comfortable, and smiling! ☀️❄️

Thanks to our solar panels powering the air conditioning throughout the home, we’re able to keep every room lovely and cool while making the most of renewable energy. 🌿

To make these warm days even sweeter, we’ve been treating everyone to delicious real Jersey Dairy ice cream sundaes and refreshing slushies – the perfect way to cool down! 🍨🥤

A big thank you to Best Buy Foods for helping us provide the slushies. Your support is very much appreciated and has helped make summer that little bit more special for everyone. 💙

Everyone at Grosvenor House Care Home has been making the most of the beautiful weather by enjoying fresh, crisp salads in the garden while spending quality time together in the sunshine. 🥗🌿

Of course, our fresh salads are just one of the many delicious options available on our menu, with something to suit every taste and appetite.

To finish off a lovely afternoon, we all enjoyed a delicious Jersey Dairy ice cream – the perfect treat to cool down on a warm summer’s day! 🍦💛

Our wonderful goats were in a very playful mood when these hilarious photos were taken, and they certainly know how to make us smile! One of our cheeky goats even decided to give the camera a full toothy grin. 🦷😂
