Myth vs. Fact - posting this story as we have had two clients in recently that have had their pre-booked hearing assessments cancelled (because they aren't old enough???!!!).
Myth: Hearing loss only affects older adults.
Fact: Hearing loss can affect people of all ages.
While age-related hearing loss is common, younger people and even children can experience hearing loss due to:
-Prolonged exposure to loud noise (concerts, headphones, workplaces)
-Ear infections or certain illnesses
-Genetics
-Injury to the ear
-Head injuries
-Some medications
The good news? Early detection can make a real difference. Regular hearing checks help identify changes early, allowing you to access the right support and protect your long-term hearing health.
If you or someone you know has been asking people to repeat themselves, struggling to follow conversations, or turning the TV volume up more than usual, it may be time for a hearing assessment.
Book a hearing check today and take the first step towards better hearing.
