On Wednesday 12 August, the UK will experience a spectacular partial solar eclipse, with up to 96% of the Sun covered.

But remember — even during an eclipse, looking directly at the Sun can cause permanent eye damage. 👁️

🔸 Never look directly at the Sun, even through sunglasses.
🔸 Never use binoculars, telescopes or cameras to view the eclipse directly.
🔸 If viewing directly, use CE or UKCA-marked eclipse glasses and check they are undamaged.
🔸 For a completely safe option, watch via a livestream or TV broadcast, or use a pinhole projector.
