👶 New parents registered with our practice?

Congratulations on your new arrival! If you've recently welcomed a baby, please remember to:

✅ Register your baby with the practice as soon as possible.
✅ Book their 6–8 week baby check before their 8-week immunisation appointment.

The 6–8 week check is an important health assessment to ensure your baby is developing well and is ready for their first routine vaccinations.

If you need to register your baby or book an appointment, please contact the practice reception on 0191 4872656. We're here to help!

Retirement message from Dr Jerry Warwick

I will be formally retiring from Fell Cottage Surgery on 31st March 2026.

Having first joined the practice as a trainee in 1992, it has been a privilege to spend almost 34 years serving the people of Gateshead as a GP. I will carry fond memories of the many people I have met as patients and carers, and I am grateful to you and your families for your trust, kindness, and support over this time.

To the Fell Cottage team, past and present, thank you for your dedication, teamwork, and friendship. It has been a pleasure to work alongside such committed and compassionate colleagues, united by a shared belief in the NHS and a commitment to providing the best possible care.

With my very best wishes to you all,

Dr Jerry Warwick

Cancer affects far too many lives, and some of us, particularly those of Jewish descent, are at greater risk due to inherited gene variants.

The NHS Jewish BRCA Programme offers free BRCA gene testing for people in England aged 18+ who have at least one Jewish grandparent.

The deadline for registration is 31 October – sign up at:

BRCA refers to two genes, BRCA1 and BRCA2, that every one of us has. These genes play an important role in the prevention of cancer.
