We celebrated International Beer Day in style by mixing tradition with a bit of fun. We paired a fantastic beer-tasting session with a colourful pinata game. Everyone loved taking turns to break the pinata, bringing lots of laughter and friendly competition. While sampling different types of beer, we also had wonderful conversations about the history and origins of everyone's favourite. Perfect blend of learning, tasting and laughter together.

We were so blessed to celebrate a birthday for one of our lovely ladies this week! Her day was filled with love, surrounded by her family, and we all joined in to sing her a hearty Happy Birthday. We are incredibly grateful to share this beautiful life journey with her and be part of her milestones. Wishing her a year ahead filled with health, happiness, and endless smiles!

We had a wonderful morning filled with smiles thanks to a visit from Gus the therapy dog! Spending time stroking and feeding him did wonders for everyone, providing much more than just joy distraction. Unconditional love on four legs truly is best medicine for well-being.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VERA🎂

Yesterday we celebrated the fabulous Vera turning 103!

The whole home was treated to a lovely concert from local pianist.

We were very excited to welcome our special guest, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire - Andrew Smith Buckinghamshire Lieutenancy. Whilst representing the King, Andrew not only wished Vera a happy birthday but took the time to stop and chat with some other residents in the home.

A huge thank you to everyone that took part in our birthday card appeal, Vera was overwhelmed that people she's not even met would take the time to wish her a happy birthday and send in a card❤️

Birthday Card Appeal💌

Our fabulous Vera is turning 103 on July 20th, and we need your help to commemorate such an impressive age...

We are asking for people near and far if they will send a birthday card, comment their well wishes for Vera or share this appeal. It would be amazing to not only see how many cards we can get, but to also track from which locations they come from.

Vera has led a phenomenal life, including but not limited to being part of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force based at RAF Tempsford (wartime Britain's most secret airfield), and a member of Beta Sigma Phi raising money for all kinds of charities across Buckinghamshire.

Yesterday, we had an incredible informative fire safety talk from local crew of Gerrards Cross Fire Station. We gained valuable insights into preventing electrical fires, including the importance of unplugging non-essential appliances before bedtime. The crew also explained the safe methods for charging mobile devices to avoid hazardous heat build-up.

It was a wonderful, engaging session that truly benefited the safety and well-being of our residents.

A huge thank you to the Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service for keeping our community safe and informed.

A wonderful day trip at the Battle of Britain Bunker in Uxbridge! We had a brilliant virtual video tour, it felt just like standing right inside the original 1940's Operations Room where Churchill directed the RAF. Such a lovely, informative, and accessible experience for everyone. It sparked some fantastic conversations, shared stories, and beautiful memories. A truly lovely and educational trip with incredible museum displays!

At this month's Coffee Morning, we welcomed Police Community Officer Paul for a talk on neighbourhood safety. Everyone had a chance to ask questions, share thoughts, and enjoy a lovely relaxed chat. A great mix of useful advice, relaxed atmosphere over coffee and social wellbeing.
