Yesterday, we had an incredible informative fire safety talk from local crew of Gerrards Cross Fire Station. We gained valuable insights into preventing electrical fires, including the importance of unplugging non-essential appliances before bedtime. The crew also explained the safe methods for charging mobile devices to avoid hazardous heat build-up.

It was a wonderful, engaging session that truly benefited the safety and well-being of our residents.

A huge thank you to the Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service for keeping our community safe and informed.

A wonderful day trip at the Battle of Britain Bunker in Uxbridge! We had a brilliant virtual video tour, it felt just like standing right inside the original 1940's Operations Room where Churchill directed the RAF. Such a lovely, informative, and accessible experience for everyone. It sparked some fantastic conversations, shared stories, and beautiful memories. A truly lovely and educational trip with incredible museum displays!

Our dearest friend Piper the therapy cat came for a visit this week, we loved every moment. Lots of stroking, feeding and spending quiet moments with her. Lots of purrs and smiles all around.

At this month's Coffee Morning, we welcomed Police Community Officer Paul for a talk on neighbourhood safety. Everyone had a chance to ask questions, share thoughts, and enjoy a lovely relaxed chat. A great mix of useful advice, relaxed atmosphere over coffee and social wellbeing.

This afternoon the children from Gerrards Cross engaged warmly with our residents, chatting and assisting them with their crafts. It was a wonderful session where creativity and conversation flowed freely while crafting their beautiful snakes, butterflies and hearts.

Yesterday I held a fundraiser for Alzheimer's Society during their Dementia Action Week.

The event started with a speech from a resident's husband - Wayne, followed by the new Dementia Ambassor - Natalie.

Games were available, such as a human whack-a-mole and we had a bake sale.

The main earner was the raffle. Prizes were donated by local businesses, as well as friends, families and residents of the care home. Over 2,000 raffle tickets were sold.

The home raised £500, but a fabulous anymous doner has offered to match us, meaning a phenomenal £1,000 has been raised!
