A new Edinburgh-developed app, Scran, is helping make home cooking easier for neurodivergent people. The app is also useful for people with dyspraxia and others who struggle with ideation and motor planning.
Scran transforms recipes into clear, manageable steps, puts ingredient quantities directly into instructions, creates shopping lists and even offers dyslexia-friendly fonts.
Co-designed with 200 people during a four-month pilot, the app aims to reduce the stress and overwhelm that can come with traditional recipes — and give everyone the confidence to cook what they want.
