The conversations we donāt always have: Breast changes, tenderness and finding the right support
There are days when I wake up and notice a tender feeling in one of my breasts. I also sometimes notice it more at the end of the day when I take my bra off.
Itās something I pay attention to, but I donāt immediately worry because I make sure I do my regular breast checks and know what is normal for me.
Over the months, Iāve also noticed changes in my bra size, so I decided to have a professional bra fitting.
I have to say⦠the confidence and comfort that came from wearing a properly fitted bra was something else!
My b***y queens will understand exactly what I mean! š
Thankfully, in my case, the tenderness I was experiencing after waking was linked to my sleeping position ā sometimes our bodies really do send us little reminders to pay attention.
But the important message is this:
If you notice any change in your breasts that is unusual for you, donāt ignore it. Get it checked and seek advice from a healthcare professional.
Knowing your body, checking regularly and speaking up when something feels different are all part of looking after ourselves.
Have you noticed changes in your breasts during midlife or menopause?
Did you discover that a better-fitting bra made a difference?
