🎉 Celebrating 20 Years of Ranscombe Farm Nature Reserve 🎉

This June, we’re marking 20 years of Plantlife caring for Ranscombe Farm Nature Reserve with a week of free activities, walks, workshops and community events 🌿

Rather than one big event, we wanted to create a programme that reflects the many different ways people connect with nature - from conservation volunteering and species monitoring, to forest bathing, crafts, storytelling, farming, and guided walks.

Whether you’re a long-time visitor or have never been to Ranscombe Farm before, we’d love to welcome you.

📅 6th–12th June
💚 All activities are free to attend, but make sure to book on as there’s limited spaces
🌱 Family-friendly, beginner-friendly and nature-curious people all welcome

Take a look at the full programme and book your place here:

A huge thank you to all the volunteers, partners and local organisations helping bring this week together.

This celebration week is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund through the Ranscombe Connect: Community Participation for Wild Plants and Fungi project.

We're hiring!

Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. The 120th Birthday Oral and Art History Project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to create a therapeutic arts heritage project to improve residents’ creative health by celebrating the stories of people associated with our historic building, from former laundry workers to the campaigners who saved it from demolition, through collaborative creative activity.

We need an experienced, enthusiastic Project Manager for this exciting initiative. If you'd like to be considered, please tap https://bit.ly/sunlighthistoryproject to know more!

Great Opportunities to help out a good cause, and a beautiful part of Medway. You can volunteer in person and meet the Highland cattle or the Alpacas or they want online volunteers too!

Nature reserves need more than conservation. They need people, ideas, creativity, care, and community. 💚

We’re launching a new Green Team Volunteer opportunity at Ranscombe Farm Nature Reserve and we’re looking for local people who want to help shape what happens here in the future.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all volunteering role. We know people bring different skills, experiences and interests, and we want to build something together.

What we’re looking for:

🌱 Flexible volunteering
📍 Cuxton / Strood, Medway
💻 Online opportunities available
💚 No experience needed

Whether you’d like to meet new people, spend more time outdoors, build confidence, try something new, or simply feel more connected to nature locally - we’d love to hear from you.

Please feel free to share with anyone who might be interested 🌿
