Out of Office is officially ON! ☀️❤️

My love and I are off to a festival in the Highlands for the weekend, and then we're heading to Spain for a couple of weeks.
This holiday is going to be a little different. We're swapping our home in Blantyre with another couple's home in Javea, so we're looking forward to living like the locals and discovering somewhere new.
A huge thank you to all my lovely clients for trusting me to support you. It's a privilege to be part of your lives, and I really appreciate your kindness and understanding while I take a little time to recharge.
I can't wait to catch up with everyone when I'm home.

Thank you so much for the gorgeous flowers and your lovely message. I was genuinely touched. It was an honour to support Karen on such an important day. Watching her enjoy her son's wedding and seeing the smiles on everyone's faces made it a very special day for me too. Thank you for making me feel so appreciated. I supported Karen on Sunday, one of the biggest days of her life.
After seven months in hospital, today wasn't about appointments, treatment or being a patient. Today she was simply a proud mum, there to watch her son marry the love of his life.
I chose to dress as a wedding guest rather than a support worker. Her family and friends knew why I was there, but I wanted Karen to feel like every other guest in the room. It was a small decision that made a big difference.
To me, support is about far more than practical care. It's about protecting someone's dignity, preserving their confidence and making sure they feel included in life's most precious moments.
The beautiful Brigodoon House Hotel was the perfect setting for a day filled with love, laughter and unforgettable memories.
The transport was carried out by the amazing Richland Minibuses, who ensured their experienced driver collected Karen and myself, and then waited for several hours until Karen felt it was time to return to the care of the nursing team at the Queen Elizabeth hospital. So much thoughtful planning to ensure all went like clockwork.
Today, my role wasn't to remind Karen she needed support. It was to help her forget she did.
Because sometimes the greatest care you can give is the freedom to simply be Mum. ❤️

Today I had a piece in the Daily Record / Lanarkshire Live about my song Hearts of Tartan. ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Like so many people, I’ve experienced heartbreak, loss, anxiety and moments where life felt very difficult.
But I’ve also learned something important… sometimes the very things that break us can also help us grow.
Music became an outlet for me.

Behind smiles, businesses, jobs and social media posts, most people are hiding their pain. And I think that’s why kindness matters so much.
If this song, or even this story, reminds one person that they’re not alone, then it’s already been worthwhile.
Thank you to everyone supporting Hearts of Tartan, sharing the song, donating, sending messages, or simply cheering us on. It means more than you know.
And thank you for supporting local people trying to create something positive from difficult experiences. 💛

She will donate all proceeds from sales of the single to Wishaw-based mental health charity Chris’s House, in honour of William.

I support a wonderful lady who enjoys getting out and about for a wee change of scenery, a chat, a browse and of course a nice cup of tea and cake ☕🍰
We’re looking for places that are: 🌿 Wheelchair accessible
🌿 Friendly and welcoming
🌿 Have a café or somewhere to sit
🌿 Community-based or just have a nice atmosphere
Could be:
garden centres
community cafés
accessible walks
canal spots
craft places
quiet shopping areas
hidden gems
Would love any suggestions from local people please 😊

Hi everyone 💛
I’m looking to see if anyone has one of these raised toilet seats with handles that is no longer needed for an elderly lady I support.
Something similar to the one in the photo would make a huge difference to her comfort, confidence and safety at home.
Happy to collect locally around Lanarkshire/Blantyre/Hamilton/Bellshill area. Of course happy to pay a reasonable price if needed.

Today I took the lady I support to Blantyre LIFE, which has a wonderful drop-in centre supporting people with disabilities through practical aids, technology and advice.
Linda has been feeling very frustrated recently as her visual impairment was making it difficult for her to operate her iPad to access the history programmes, mystery stories and YouTube content she enjoys so much.
With support from the team, we were able to connect and set up her Alexa so she can now use voice commands instead of struggling to find the correct buttons and controls on the iPad.
A small change perhaps to some people — but for Linda this has made a huge difference to her independence, confidence and enjoyment at home.
Places like this are invaluable within the community and offer such practical help in a kind and welcoming environment.
And as an added bonus, the café was lovely too — Linda thoroughly enjoyed a large fresh fruit salad for just £2 😊

I love helping people in practical ways, that make such a difference to their everyday life, independence and confidence.

The reality of good support isn’t just visits — it’s being there when it really counts.

Over the past few days I’ve:
• Visited a client in hospital, offering reassurance during a difficult time
• Helped another client feel safe enough to go to hospital by ambulance
• Stayed beyond my scheduled time to ensure she was fully supported
• Taken and shared vital observations with paramedics
• Liaised with and reassured family members who are currently out of the country
• Resolved a phone line issue so she could stay connected

This is the level of care I bring — calm, practical, and person-centred when people need it most.

It’s not just a service. It’s trust. 💛
