Piece of Mind

Piece of Mind You’re not broken. You’re carrying what you were never meant to carry alone. Therapy and training that changes lives — including yours. Based in Glasgow.

Online and in-person. Just getting by is no fun. I understand what it’s like to feel the utter despair of living with an unwanted feeling or behaviour, frustrated you can’t live life the way you want to and worrying about the future. It’s exhausting. I also get you’ve probably tried numerous remedies and therapies. Some may have offered you temporary relief. But that’s just deflating. But, here’s

the thing. You don’t have to put up with unwanted fear, phobias, anxiety, depression and habits. I’ve helped thousands of people get back to the lives they deserve, so that life can be good again.

I had one of those days in the therapy room recently.

Every single session.
Different person.
Same battle.

Their thoughts running the show.
Dictating how they felt.
Dictating what they believed was possible.
Dictating the quality of their entire day.

And the thing that struck me sitting there was this.

We treat our thoughts like facts.
Like they're reporting reality.
But they're not.

They're interpretations.
Predictions.
Old stories running on a loop.

The what ifs.
The worst case scenarios.
The quiet voice that says you won't cope.

And yet we believe them.
Every time.

I spent years doing the same thing.
A mind full of what ifs I couldn't answer.
Trying to control a future that hadn't happened yet.

What I've come to understand is this.

Confidence doesn't come from certainty.
It comes from trusting that if things didn't go perfectly, you'd cope.

Maybe the work isn't answering every what if.
Maybe it's noticing when your thoughts are predicting pain.
And asking a quieter question instead.

What's the most likely outcome here.
And can that be enough for today.

Most people don't come to therapy when things are hard.

They come when they can't keep going anymore.

When the wheels have finally come off.
When they've run out of ways to hold it together.
When the crash has already happened.

And I get it.
We're wired to push through.
To cope.
To keep going.

But what if you didn't have to wait until you hit the wall.

Therapy isn't just for crisis.
It's for the person who can feel something building.
Who knows something isn't quite right.
Who's tired of just managing.

Clarity. Calm. Change.

That's what we work towards together.

Don't wait for the crash.
Drop me a message and let's talk.

This is what happens when you just go for it.

Two students.
Same nerves before they started.
Same surprise at what they found when they got there.

Not just the skills.
But something about themselves they weren't expecting.

That's what this course does.

And if you're worried about what hypnotherapy actually is.
Spoiler.
It's nothing like what you've seen on television.

Our next course starts 26th and 27th September.
Full nine month diploma or four month foundation course.

If they're saying go for it.
Maybe that's worth listening to.

Details in the comments or drop me a message.

Some people find their way to this course with a clear plan.

Most don't.

They just have a feeling.

That they're meant to be doing something more.
Something that matters.
Something that uses a different part of them.

Maybe you're already a good listener.
The person people come to.
The one who notices things others miss.

Or maybe you've been through something yourself and come out the other side thinking.
I want to help people the way I was helped.

Our next clinical hypnotherapy diploma starts on the 26th and 27th of September.

You can join the full nine month diploma.
Or start with the four month foundation course if you want to find your feet first.

If something in you has been quietly saying there's more than this.
That feeling is usually worth listening to.

Drop me a message and let's have a chat about whether this is the right fit for you.

Another brilliant day out delivering manager mental health training.

Managers play a vital role in workplace wellbeing but only when they have the tools, the confidence and the language to respond when it matters.

That’s exactly what today was about.

Proud of the work. Proud of the team.

You ever noticed this

The harder you try to think your way through a problem… the less clear it becomes.

Here's a question.

How many times have you sat overthinking something for hours and actually found the answer?

For me?

Never.

The answer usually turns up when I'm walking the dogs, driving, making a coffee or doing something completely unrelated.

Almost as if your brain needs you to get out of its way for a minute.

Sometimes the smartest thing you can do isn't think harder.

It's stop thinking.

🎙️ This clip is from the latest episode of Tickety Boo, where we're talking about why we make life so complicated and how some of the best answers come when we stop chasing them.

Watch the clip below and let me know...

When was the last time the answer found you when you'd stopped looking for it?

I spent most of today teaching online.

If anyone had walked past the window, they’d probably have assumed I was teaching the Macarena.

Sadly, I was actually explaining a mental health model…

Turns out most training involves a surprising amount of waving your arms around.

Somewhere right now someone is not okay.

And nobody knows.

Not because people don't care.
But because asking for help still feels like too much.

So they keep going.
Quietly.
Holding it together on the outside.
Falling apart on the inside.

If that's you right now.

You don't have to explain it perfectly.
You don't need the right words.
You just need to say it to someone.

I'm not okay.

That's enough.
That's more than enough.

Because the moment you say it out loud.
Something changes.

You are not a burden.
You are a human being having a hard time.

And you deserve the same care you'd give anyone else.

One of the saddest things I hear in the therapy room isn’t people saying they’re unhappy.

It’s people saying…
“I’ll slow down once this project is finished.”

“I’ll spend more time with the kids when work settles.”

“I’ll start looking after myself next month.”
Then another month passes.

Then another year.
Before they know it, they’ve spent years waiting for life to begin.

Don’t get me wrong.
Goals matter.
Working hard matters.
Providing for your family matters.

But somewhere along the way, a lot of us quietly start believing that happiness is waiting on the other side of the next thing, the bigger house, the pay rise or ticking another box.

I’ve worked with people who have all of those things.
They’re still anxious.
They’re still exhausted.
They’re still wondering why they don’t feel the way they thought they would.

Because the thing they were chasing was never the thing they actually needed.

Sometimes the life you’re waiting to enjoy is the one you’re already living.
The cup of tea with your partner.
The daft conversation with your kids.
Walking the dog.
Laughing with a mate.

None of those moments look important when they’re happening.
Until one day they’re the moments you’d give anything to have back.

What if the life you’re trying so hard to build is quietly passing you by while you’re building it?

How are you.

Three words we say every day.
And almost never mean.

This episode isn't just for people who are struggling.

It's for the people who want to show up better for someone who is.

Because right now there's a chance someone in your life isn't okay.
And they're hoping someone notices.

Learn how to actually ask.
