We've been lucky enough to find interesting ways of life, amazing therapies and gifted practitioners along our way. With the busy, often complicated lives that we lead we know it's not always possible to have a wee break from the norm. We know how meditatin

g for half an hour, going to an hours holistic therapeutic session or spending your weekend on a yoga retreat can put you back up on top of the world. And so, The Wee Retreat aims to bring the therapies, ways of life and practitioners we have found along the way to you... so you experience the serenity and calm from your own wee retreat.

As you may have spotted we have a new booking system called offering tree! Thanks so much to Trudi for working on this in the background and getting this set up for us.

Any bookings made through the old booking system will have been moved over, and you can book new classes through the same links as usual on our website.

This system operates in a very similar way to the old one, but with some major upgrades!:

- You can now easily cancel your own place in for classes or events, just by clicking on the cancellation link in your email confirmation

- We now have waitlists, so if a class is full you can join the waitlist and be automatically added if a place becomes available.

- Some classes will have block booking options, which you can easily manage through your account!

This Carers Week, we're celebrating the incredible contribution of unpaid carers in our communities!

Yesterday, we were delighted to host a creative wellbeing table at the Carers Week event in the Concert Hall, offering a chance for carers to pause, connect and enjoy a mindful moment amidst a busy day.

Supporting carers' wellbeing is something we're passionate about all year round! Alongside our free monthly Carers Retreats, we're proud to work with organisations including and The Dixon Community to support the wellbeing of both carers and the staff who work tirelessly alongside them.

June Wee Wanders Wellbeing Walk 🌞

This month, our wee wander takes us into the woodland of Queen’s Park where we’ll gently explore the interplay of light and shadow as we approach Summer Solstice. Together we will wander slowly through the woodland and notice the way that the sunlight filters through the leaves casting shadows across our pathway transforming familiar spaces. Through simple invitations we will explore how light and darkness exist alongside each other in nature and in ourselves.

Our walk will start at The Wee Retreat from 10am and follow mostly paved paths that are predominantly flat although there is a slight incline as we approach the woodland. There is also a section of path that is muddy and wood-chipped so sturdy footwear is recommended as is appropriate clothing suitable for the weather be that sun hats and sunscreen or raincoats and wellies! A bottle of water is also recommended.

Sometimes the smallest acts can make the biggest difference 🪷

A warm welcome at the door.
A cup of tea offered with care.
Chairs laid out before a group arrives.
Fresh herbs planted in the garden.
A quiet check-in with someone who needs support.

These gentle acts may seem small, but they help create the feeling of safety, warmth and belonging that so many people experience when they walk through our doors.

Volunteers’ Week is a reminder to celebrate all our wonderful volunteers who give their time, energy and kindness to support our community - from helping at our community groups and carers retreats, to all the hard work that's gone into transforming our garden! 🌱

Discover how the Alexander Technique can help you move with greater freedom, ease and awareness in everyday life. In this relaxed and practical workshop, you’ll explore simple principles to help reduce tension, improve posture and balance, and support a calmer, more grounded presence.

Through guided activities and gentle experimentation, you’ll become more aware of habitual patterns and discover how small changes can bring greater ease to everyday activities. Open to all ages and abilities, no previous experience is needed.

Led by Sue Barclay, an experienced Alexander Technique teacher who teaches privately and at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

As Mental Health Awareness Month draws to a close we're reminded that wellbeing deserves space in everyday life — not just for one month, but all year round 🌿

Over the past month, we’ve delivered 10 wellbeing sessions for businesses and charities across Glasgow, supporting more than 200 employees through team wellbeing days, stress management workshops and wellbeing tasters.

Participants shared that our sessions helped them feel calmer, reduce stress, learn new wellbeing techniques and support their overall mental health.

We also received some lovely feedback:

“Amazing and will be keeping up some techniques”

Creating healthy workplaces takes ongoing care, compassion and meaningful support. We’re grateful to work with organisations investing in the wellbeing of their people 💛
