📣 WE’RE HIRING | CARE SUPERVISOR / CO-ORDINATOR

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly organised Care Supervisor / Co-ordinator to join our Extended Personal Care - Care at Home team, based at our office in Lennoxtown.

🕒 21.5 hours per week
💷 £16,779 per year (£15.00 per hour)
📍 Lennoxtown

Working hours:
Monday: 9.00am to 5.00pm
Wednesday: 9.00am to 5.00pm
Friday: 9.00am to 4.00pm

There may also be an opportunity for the post to increase to full-time hours in the future.

This is a varied role combining care co-ordination, staff supervision and quality assurance. You will work closely with our Operations Manager and wider management team to help ensure our Care at Home service runs effectively and that high-quality, person-led support is delivered at all times.

Responsibilities will include:

✅ Co-ordinating daily Care at Home services
✅ Managing staff and client schedules
✅ Responding to staffing and operational changes
✅ Supervising and supporting Care at Home staff
✅ Undertaking home visits, care planning and reviews
✅ Supporting new referrals and care packages
✅ Monitoring the quality and consistency of service delivery
✅ Helping ensure services meet organisational, Care Inspectorate and Health and Social Care Standards

We are looking for someone who is organised, resourceful and confident in making decisions, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Applicants should hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Adults) at SCQF Level 7, or an equivalent relevant qualification, alongside appropriate social care experience.

Experience within a Care at Home service and/or a supervisory or co-ordination role would be advantageous.

🚗 A full driving licence and access to a car are essential.

The training gave our team the opportunity to build their knowledge, develop practical skills and grow their confidence in responding to a range of first aid situations.

Investing in training like this is an important part of making sure our colleagues feel prepared and confident to act when it matters most.

We would also like to say a special thank you to Tony, Trainer and Assessor with St Andrew’s First Aid, for leading both our First Aid and Mental Health First Aid training. Tony’s knowledge and guidance helped make both sessions informative, engaging and valuable for everyone who took part.

We are delighted to announce the launch of Volume 2 of our Care Technology Magazine!

This latest edition provides an update on how our Care Technology Project has continued to grow, where we are today and what we are looking towards next.

Inside, you’ll find an overview of the project and our progress so far, our HomeSight partnership and trial, future technologies we are preparing to explore, our updated catalogue of assistive devices, and much more.

☕ Research involvement opportunity

We’re pleased to share details of an upcoming free coffee afternoon hosted by researchers from the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The event is open to anyone living with a long-term health condition, or caring for someone who does, with those who have experience of receiving formal care at home particularly welcome.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from patient advocate and cancer survivor Steve, who will share his experience of living with advanced cancer and being involved in health research.

📍 Byres Community Hub, School of Health & Wellbeing, University of Glasgow, Clarice Pears Building, 90 Byres Road, G12 8TB

The event is free to attend, with coffee, tea and biscuits provided, and travel expenses reimbursed.

Baillieston Community Care & Extended Personal Care Statement on Racism and Hate

At Baillieston Community Care & Extended Personal Care, we are deeply saddened by the recent incidents of racism, hatred and discrimination witnessed across the UK.

We believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and valued, regardless of their race, ethnicity, nationality, faith or background. As an organisation dedicated to supporting people within our communities, we stand firmly against all forms of racism, prejudice and hate.

Our workforce reflects the diversity and strength of modern Scotland. Every day, colleagues from different cultures, backgrounds and experiences come together with a shared commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care and support. Their contribution is invaluable, and they deserve to work and live free from fear, intimidation and discrimination.

The values that guide our work, respect, dignity, inclusion and compassion, are incompatible with racism and hate. We remain committed to fostering an environment where both the people we support and our staff feel welcomed, respected and empowered to be themselves.

As Carers Week begins, we want to take a moment to recognise the extraordinary contribution unpaid carers make to families and communities across Scotland.

Every day, countless people dedicate their time, energy and compassion to supporting a loved one, friend or neighbour. Often carried out quietly and without recognition, their commitment helps people live independently, maintain their wellbeing and stay connected to the things that matter most.

Our Chief Executive, David Reilly, shared the following message:

"Carers, particularly unpaid carers, play an invaluable role in supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. Every day, they provide comfort, reassurance, companionship and practical support that enables people to live independently and with dignity.

The commitment shown by unpaid carers often goes unseen, yet their contribution is fundamental to the wellbeing of those they care for and to the wider health and social care system. Their compassion, patience and resilience make a meaningful difference to people's lives every single day.

On behalf of everyone at Baillieston Community Care & Extended Personal Care, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to all unpaid carers. During Carers Week, it is especially important that we recognise and celebrate their dedication, while also acknowledging the challenges they can face. Thank you for everything you do.
