We are looking for an experienced Funeral Arranger who believes in delivering high-quality, caring, personal support and guidance to families. This role is central to our community presence and requires someone who can balance professionalism with genuine compassion. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in funeral arranging who can provide exceptional support to families during one of the most difficult moments in their lives.

The ideal applicant will be organised, attentive and committed to excellence. We are seeking someone who is emotionally resilient and empathetic due to the nature of the job. We are looking for someone with previous experience as a funeral arranger and within the industry to join our team.

You’ll take the lead in supporting families, arranging and coordinating funeral services, and ensuring every detail is delivered to the highest standard with dignity and respect. Strong organisational and communication skills are required as you will be liaising not only with families but with internal and external partners.

Grief arrived without a sound,
Not with thunder, not with rain,
But in the empty chair at dusk,
And in the echo of your name.
The world kept turning, calm and bright,
As if it had not noticed you were gone.
Morning still unfolded into light,
Yet every day felt strangely long.

Seventeen years ago, Robert Birrell opened the doors to Birrell Corrance Funeral Directors with one simple promise, to serve every family in our community with compassion, care, dignity, and respect from our independent family-owned funeral home.

With over 30 years’ experience in the industry and 17 years of serving our local community, our hearts are filled with gratitude and pride.

Funeral Mass will be held in St Benedicts RC church Easterhouse on Friday 24th July at 10am. Loss arrives without asking. Quiet as evening rain,
settling into the corners where laughter used to live.
We search for echoes. A familiar voice, a favourite smile,
the comfort of a hand that memory still reaches for.
Grief is not a road that leads away from love.
It is love with nowhere left to go,
carried gently through ordinary days.
Time does not erase what mattered.
It teaches the heart to hold both sorrow
and gratitude in the same breath.
And though absence can feel impossibly vast,
the light they left behind finds its way into us
in kindness offered, stories retold, and the quiet courage
to keep moving forward.
So, when the night feels long,
remember this:
love does not end when a life does.
It changes its form, becoming the strength
that walks beside us, even when we must walk alone.
