The reality:
There is no peace and quiet
The sitting lasts 35 seconds before someone needs something
The coffee is there but it's not hot and it's probably not getting finished
I live in Scotland so the sun isn't visible most mornings
Having a morning routine that compliments your ability to sleep well is important but it has to be realistic to your lifestyle otherwise you are just setting yourself up to fail.
Taking an ideal routine and adapting it to work for you is far more likely to actually stick so if your life is more chaos than calm right now don't let that stop you trying to make things better.
For me:
My priorities in the morning are caffeine and daylight.
If I can sit outside at the backdoor I will but most mornings just opening the blinds and getting some natural daylight is enough.
Standing at the kitchen window, sipping coffee, while making the kids breakfast and answering questions about my favourite dinosaur or unicorn is generally my norm.
It's not Instagram perfect but it's practical and it's effective.
Don't try to overcomplicate, keep things simple and achievable for the phase of life you are in!
