Five months ago, Ellie, Amy and Errin weren't sure what the future held. Today, the sky's the limit for all of them.

These remarkable young women are NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's first Apprentice Health & Safety Officers after taking a chance on careers they had never previously considered.

They're learning new skills, gaining qualifications and discovering new opportunities, and now they hope their experiences will inspire others to keep an open mind about their own future.

"If you're not sure what you want to do, just go for it and try something new," said Errin. "You never know where it might lead."

For Robert Ormiston, a simple conversation a week before knee replacement surgery meant his recovery started before his operation even took place.

Robert is one of a growing number of patients benefiting from an innovative pharmacy-led service that is helping people feel informed, reassured and confident ahead of hip and knee replacement surgery.

Whether you're heading to university, starting college, moving into shared accommodation or beginning a new chapter after school, now is the time to think about protecting yourself against meningitis.

If you're eligible for the MenB vaccine, don't wait. The vaccine is given in two doses at least 28 days apart, so getting your first dose now will help make sure you're protected before term starts.

Our clinics are walk-in, so you don't need an appointment. And you don't need to be a student at the university hosting the clinic. If you're eligible, you can simply come along and get vaccinated.

Last week, Rachel Conway was representing Team Scotland at the . Next week, she'll start her career as a doctor with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The 25-year-old netball international has been competing in front of packed crowds at Glasgow's OVO Hydro before joining hundreds of fellow FY1 doctors as they begin their NHS careers.

And while she's now starting work as a doctor, Rachel's international netball journey is far from over.

Four teams. Eight sports. One fantastic afternoon.
Patients, staff and families brought the spirit of to the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit this week with a Games of their own.
Representing Cameroon, Canada, Cyprus and Jamaica, competitors took part in everything from cycling and basketball to wheelchair slaloms and boxing, complete with an opening ceremony, team parades and medals.
The event was made even more special when former patient Melanie Woods won Gold for .
And while there was plenty of friendly rivalry, the day was about much more than competition. It was an opportunity to build confidence, discover new activities and, for a few hours, simply enjoy being part of a team.

The GP Out of Hours service is by appointment only, so please ensure you call NHS 24 on 111 first.
