July. You were that month. ❤️✨

What. A. Month.

A whirlwind of dreams coming true, busy clinic days, belly laughs, family memories, fresh air, sunshine, and a whole lot of gratitude. It’s been one I’ll never forget.

❤️ We welcomed Big Red (Leicester) into our family. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know owning a horse has been a childhood dream of mine, and to finally say, “He’s mine,” still doesn’t quite feel real.

👣 The clinic has been full, and my heart has been even fuller. Helping people get out of pain, solving foot problems they’ve been living with for years, and giving people the confidence to wear sandals, walk comfortably, and love their feet again that’s exactly why I do what I do. Thank you to every single person who trusts me with your foot health.

🤍 Then there’s my little guy. Seeing those huge smiles, especially wearing his very first riding helmet, absolutely melted me. Those little moments are the ones that matter the most.

🍄 July has definitely been the month of the fungal nail! But here’s the thing fungal nails are incredibly common, nothing to be embarrassed about, and yes, they can be treated. If you’ve been hiding your feet, consider this your sign to stop. No judgement here, just healthy, happy feet.

☀️ And can we take a moment for the sunshine? Long evenings, fresh air, horse cuddles, time outside, slowing down just enough to appreciate the little things… it’s been good for the soul.

To every patient, every follower, every message, every recommendation, every laugh, every like, every share, and everyone cheering me on… thank you. You make this journey so special.🤍

Here’s to August. More dreams. More smiles. More helping people. More adventures. Let’s go. ✨

Love,

Emma-Jo xo

Chronic illness vs. self-employed and sometimes, chronic illness wins. 🤍

If you’ve noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on here over the last couple of days, this is why.

Closing West End Foot Clinic is never my choice. Ever. If you know me, you’ll know I’ll do absolutely everything I can to keep the clinic running because I genuinely love what I do and I hate letting people down.

But living with a chronic illness means sometimes my body makes the decisions for me.

The last few days have been incredibly tough. Seizures, intense headaches, episodes of paralysis, and I think I’ve also picked up a bug that’s tipped everything over the edge. When my body starts waving the red flags, I’ve learned that ignoring them doesn’t make me stronger… it usually lands me in hospital, and that’s the last place I want to be.

So for once, I’m listening.

The clinic is only closed until Sunday, giving me a few days to properly rest and recover because I’ve got a really important week ahead, and I want to come back feeling like me again✨.

If you have an appointment affected by this, please don’t worry. I’ll be in touch with everyone personally over the next few days to get you rescheduled as quickly as possible.

Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me, sent kind messages, or simply been patient while I’ve gone a little quiet. It never goes unnoticed.

Running a small business while living with a chronic illness is a balancing act I never expected to master, but I’m learning that sometimes resting isn’t giving up it’s part of getting back to doing what I love.

Thank you for always supporting West End Foot Clinic and understanding that behind the business is just a human doing her very best 🤍.

See you all very soon.

Love,

Emma-Jo xo

💉 MOUNJARO FEET… Yep, it’s a thing people are talking about! 👣

You’ve heard of Ozempic face but what about Mounjaro feet? 👀

Losing weight is incredible for your health, but your feet can definitely notice the difference…

✨ Less natural cushioning under the feet can make bones and pressure points feel more noticeable.
✨ If you’re moving more (which is amazing!), your feet, tendons and joints suddenly have a much bigger workload.
✨ Existing bunions, plantar fasciitis, neuromas or arthritis may decide it’s their time to be dramatic.
✨ Some people also report colder feet or developing chilblains after significant weight loss.

Your feet are carrying you through a whole new chapter, so don’t ignore them if they’re trying to tell you something.

I’m genuinely curious…

👇 If you’re on Mounjaro (or another weight loss injection), have you noticed any changes in your feet?
More aches? Skinny feet? Cold feet? Better mobility? Tell me below. I’d love to know what you’ve experienced.

Every day in clinic I’m seeing more patients using these medications, and it’s fascinating to see how weight loss can change the way our feet function.

Foot pain isn’t “just part of it.” Let’s keep you moving comfortably.

🚫 Corn plasters? It’s a no from me.

This is exactly why…

That little plaster doesn’t know what’s a corn and what’s healthy skin. It just releases salicylic acid onto everything it touches. 😬

The result? Chemical burns, damaged healthy skin, painful ulceration, infection… and if it’s left too long, it can become a much bigger problem.

🚩 If you’re diabetic, have poor circulation, vascular disease or reduced sensation in your feet, please step away from the corn plasters. The risks are simply not worth it.

And here’s the plot twist… it might not even be a corn. It could be a verruca, callus, pressure lesion, or something else entirely. Treat the wrong thing and you’ll often make it worse.

✨ Your feet deserve better than a guessing game.

If it’s sore, get it checked. We’ll find the why, treat it properly, and keep your feet happy.

Detective Series Part 3: Why does my big toe hurt?

A sore big toe isn’t always a bunion. It could be early osteoarthritis, a corn, tissue irritation, or something else entirely but in this case? 🕵🏼‍♀️💡 BUNION.

Keep an eye out for:
✨A bump at the base of the big toe
✨Pain when walking or wearing shoes
✨Redness or swelling
✨Your big toe starting to drift towards the second toe

The earlier you catch it, the more we can do to help slow progression and keep you comfortable.

If your big toe is trying to tell you something, don’t ignore it. Book your assessment at West End Foot Clinic, Glasgow and let’s find the real reason behind your pain 🙌.

Corns and verrucas might look like they’re cousins… but trust me, they’re living completely different lives. 😏

🦶A corn:
• Usually hurts when you press directly on it.
• Caused by pressure and friction.
• Often has a hard central core.
• No black dots.

🦶A verruca:
• Usually hurts more when you squeeze it from the sides.
• Caused by the HPV virus.
• May have tiny black dots (little blood vessels).
• Can interrupt your skin lines.

🚫 And while we’re here… PLEASE don’t use corn plasters!

Those little medicated discs contain acid. If you’ve actually got a verruca, healthy skin around it, poor circulation, diabetes, or you’ve simply misdiagnosed it, you can end up with a chemical burn that’s far worse than the original problem. It’s one of the biggest foot mistakes I see in clinic.

Still not sure what you’re looking at? Don’t play Foot Detective at home. Leave that to me. 😌

Book in at West End Foot Clinic and let’s find out exactly what’s going on so you can get the right treatment the first time.

“When your toenail starts hugging your toe… you’ve waited long enough.”

Not going to lie… this nail had BIG main character energy. 😂

Somewhere along the line it decided,
“I’m not growing forwards anymore… I’m taking the scenic route.”

Believe it or not, I see nails like this more often than you’d think.

Life gets busy.
People can’t reach their feet.
Health changes.
Mobility changes.
Sometimes people are embarrassed.
Sometimes they just don’t know where to go.

And before you know it… your toenail has curled round like it’s trying to cuddle your toe.

✨ The good news?
This is exactly what I’m here for🤍.

No judgement.
No telling you that you “should’ve come sooner.”
Just safe, professional treatment and the satisfaction of finally getting those nails back under control.

Because let’s be honest…
Your toenails should be growing…
not auditioning to be bird talons. 🦅😂

If your feet have been hidden away in socks for years, take this as your sign.
