We hope everyone is looking forward to the eclipse. Please remember to never look directly at the sun, even during maximum eclipse, as you risk solar retinopathy where the receptors of the eye are damaged, often permanently.

We paid George Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic an astronomical sum to show what your vision would feel like before and after solar retinopathy. For that money we should have got him to tidy up the tiles beneath the window too.

A happy new year to all our patients.

Last year we conducted a survey with some patients asking what extra services they would like to see us offer.

Nothing could have prepared us for the response as, over the course of just a few short weeks, an email flooded in.

It asked if we could be more accessible for those patients, often younger, who due to autism can find a busy practice daunting.

Accordingly from February we will be running weekly 'quiet clinics' after normal closing where we will deal with only one patient at a time in practice. No other patients will be in practice during these clinics which will run 5-6pm on Wednesdays.

If you feel you or a loved one may benefit from a quiet clinic please call 01355 570686 for East Kilbride, 01505 321100 for Johnstone, or email [email protected].

Please note there is no charge for these clinics.
