Popping on to say hi πŸ‘‹

Many of you know me through yoga, but did you also know that these days most of my work involves offering one-to-one somatic experiencing trauma therapy.

Yoga introduced me to the idea that there is deep wisdom held within our bodies. And now I’m passionate about supporting people to work through the symptoms of trauma, chronic stress and overwhelm by learning to connect with the body and befriend the autonomic nervous system.

My intention here on the β€œsocials” is to begin sharing little bits here and there about this work and some of the things that are inspiring me. Topics such as:

*resilience building
*trauma & autonomic nervous system
*body-centred self-care
*self-compassion

If you’re interested in this sort of stuff too, hang around and thank you for listening.

With kindness and gratitude,
Katie πŸ’™

Some colour on what is apparently - the gloomiest day of the year.

Here’s a simple exercise if you need to support yourself today.

*Place your feet firmly on the ground.
*Feel the support beneath you.
*Take a slow look around and find 10 different things of the same colour.
*Repeat as necessary.

Hope you'll join me for Saturday morning classes in March. The theme for the month is RESOURCING.

πŸ—“ Sign up via Merchant City Yoga every Sat 9.30am-10.45am.

Resourcing (a term I'm borrowing from Somatic Experiencing) is the practice of inviting our mind/body to attune to sensations of pleasure/goodness/safety. It helps build our capacity to be with the fullness of life (and by that I mean the crappy things, such as lockdowns, pandemics, etc. as well as the good!!). Join me to find out more πŸ’™

Hello 2021, hello friends πŸ‘‹πŸ½

I was really struck by this beautiful illustration by the talented

There’s a seed inside all of us that needs to be nurtured in order to flourish. There are things that all seeds need (air, water, food, light) and then there are things that are unique to each individual seedling.Β

What does your internal seedling need from you today? A walk in the sunshine? A hand on your heart? A deeper breath? Always remember that the small things matter. YOU can make a difference to YOUR day.Β
