Our Funeral Director Stuart and Funeral Service Operative Mark had a fantastic day at the Hurlet Crematorium Open Day, proudly representing Laird & McMillan Funeral Directors.

With our hearse and ambulance on display, they spent time chatting with visitors, answering questions, and meeting members of the local community. It was a great opportunity to share a little more about what we do and the support we provide to families every day.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and took the time to speak with us. We thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a welcoming community event.

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we’re thinking of everyone affected by su***de.

Our funeral directors are there for families during some of life’s hardest moments. But we know that the people who care for others need someone to care for them, too.

If you’re struggling, grieving a su***de loss, or worried about someone you know, please talk to someone. That could be a friend, a colleague, someone at your local Dignity funeral home or someone you trust.

You can also call Samaritans free, day or night, on 116 123 to talk to a trained volunteer.

You don’t have to have the right words. You just have to start the conversation.

What does a good death look like?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Everyone's wishes, values and priorities are different.

But for many people, a good death means having choice and dignity, feeling comfortable, being cared for in the right place, and knowing the people around them understand what's important.

It also means making plans where possible: having conversations, sharing your wishes and helping loved ones feel more prepared for the future.

Today, on National Bereaved Parents Day, we pause to remember the unimaginable loss experienced by parents who have lost a child.

There are no words that can truly ease such heartbreak, but today we honour every child's memory and acknowledge the strength, love, and courage of bereaved parents and families.

From all of us, we send our heartfelt thoughts to every family carrying the love and memory of a child in their hearts today. ❤️🕊️

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Laing, who passed away peacefully on Sunday 21st June, at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, aged 80.

Ann’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday 15th July at 11:00am in The Linn Crematorium, followed by a gathering at Mitchells Restaurant, Carmunnock.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend to pay their respects and celebrate Ann’s life.

Our sincere condolences go to Ann’s family and friends at this difficult time.
