✨ Special Visits & Sweet Treats at Preston House! 🐶☕🎨
Today, we had the absolute honour of welcoming the lovely Nova and the cutest little puppy, Diesel! Both belong to our fantastic Senior Carer, Vicki, who kindly came in on her day off just so our residents could enjoy a cuddle. 🐾❤️
In the afternoon, our talented residents worked hard to create a beautiful harvest-themed box for our local food bank collection. 🌾📦
To wrap up the day, everyone enjoyed a special weekend treat as the Preston Hot Chocolate Bar made its rounds! ☕✨ We served both regular and pink hot chocolate—and both were a huge hit! 😋💖

This year for the Harvest season, we’re hosting a food bank collection right here at Preston House!

You’ll find our lovely harvest box—specially decorated by our wonderful residents—sitting right in the reception area. 🎨📦

Please have a nosey through your cupboards and drop off anything you can spare. We are accepting:

* 🥫 All non-perishable food items
* 🧴 Toiletries and personal care products

🚌☀️ A lovely day of outings at Preston House!☀️🚌

Today our residents enjoyed not one, but two lovely bus trips! 💕

This morning, the gentlemen headed off to Leven Beach to soak up the sunshine ☀️, enjoy the fresh sea air, and of course, stop to say hello to all the passing pups! 🐶🐾

This afternoon, a couple of our lovely ladies enjoyed a trip to the Kingdom Shopping Centre for a spot of shopping 🛍️, followed by a wee cuppa and a catch-up at the Bridge Café. ☕️💕

We also had a very special celebration yesterday as we celebrated our lovely Rab’s birthday! 🎂💖

Happy Birthday, Rab! We hope you had a wonderful day filled with lots of love, laughter and happiness. 🥳🎉💐

Happy National Fitness Day! 💪🏻🍎🕺🎶

Today our residents enjoyed a morning of moving and grooving with sparkly Pom Poms, we learnt a sequence which was great fun! This afternoon residents relaxed with Fitness themed word search and colouring. It got us chatting about different sports and ways residents enjoyed keeping fit and active when they were younger. ⚽️🥎🎳🏋🏻‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏌️‍♀️🏊‍♂️🏇

This week is ‘Recycle Week 2026’. ♻️🎨

To start off recycle week we made Newspaper flowers. This was a fun and simple activity that consisted of cutting petals out of newspaper and then painting them. Residents then put pipe cleaners around bamboo sticks which we then stuck onto the flowers! They look beautiful and autumnal.. 🍂🌼🗞️📰

Happy Sunday 🍂🍁

It’s been a weekend of autumn arts & crafts 🎨, making empire biscuits🍪, word-search 🔎and we welcomed the fantastic Charlie to entertain our residents! Charlie put on a great performance this afternoon, it was lovely to see residents singing and dancing along. There will be a Reel of our afternoon entertainment to follow. 🎶🎤

🌟 What a wonderful day at Preston House! 🌟

Today we were delighted to welcome our lovely friends from Peek-a-Boo Nursery 👶🧸💕. Our residents had a fantastic time enjoying lots of singing, smiles and fun together! 🎶🎵 We sang some of our favourite songs and had great fun playing with some of our favourite toys. 🧸🚂😊 It was wonderful to see the different generations coming together and sharing such a happy morning. 🥰💕

In the afternoon, it was time for a little pampering and relaxation! 💅✨ Our residents enjoyed having their manicures done, choosing lovely colours and enjoying some well-deserved me-time. 💖💅🌸 There were lots of smiles as everyone sat back, relaxed and enjoyed being pampered. 😊🧖‍♀️✨

But that wasn't all… today was also a very special day as we celebrated our lovely Jimmie's 80th Birthday! 🎂🎉🥳🎈 We enjoyed celebrating this wonderful milestone with Jimmie and making sure his special day was filled with happiness, laughter and lots of birthday wishes. ❤️

Busy hands and warm hearts at Preston House this weekend! 🍓☕️✨

Here is a look at what our wonderful residents have been up to:

Garden Refresh: We discovered we planted the wrong strawberry variety last year (which explains the missing berries!), so we spent some time clearing them out to make room for a fresh, fruitful batch next spring. 🪴🌱

Get Creative: Our lovely ladies and gents got crafty with autumn arts and crafts to make the home feel cozy, festive, and warm for the season. 🎨✂️

Sunday Social: We wrapped up the weekend in the best way possible—gathering at Peggy’s Coffee Bar for a delightful tea and coffee afternoon packed with delicious cakes and even better company! ☕️🍰🧁

As part of our World Letter Writing Day activity, residents have been taking a journey back through their memories and reflecting on their younger selves.

Through conversation and gentle prompts, residents have been sharing stories about their childhoods, families, friendships, work, favourite places, happy memories and the things that have made them proud.

Residents have shared their thoughts through conversation and drafted a letter which has then been written up with assistance from Megan and signed by the resident.

We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we have enjoyed hearing the stories behind them. 🖤🤍

*Please note residents will be doing more of these over the coming days, I just wanted to share the wonderful work so far*
