19 years old ➡️ 37 years old. 🥹🏃♀️❤️
Tomorrow I run my first ever UK half marathon… and looking back at these photos tonight feels absolutely crazy.
The last time I ran a half marathon was July 2008 at Camp Souter in Afghanistan — 21km at 6,000 feet.
I was 19 years old, serving in the Army… and somehow ran it in 1 hour 52 minutes! 😮💨🔥
Now, 18 years later, I’m 37. I’m a wife, a mum of two, a business owner, and life looks VERY different to what it did for that 19-year-old girl in these pictures.
And tomorrow, I get to stand on the start line of my first half marathon on UK soil. 🥹🏴
Looking at these photos makes me realise just how much life has happened between these two races.
Tomorrow I’d LOVE to chase that younger version of me and her 1:52… 👀😂🔥
But whatever that clock says when I cross the finish line, getting back out there 18 years later already means so much.
19-year-old me set the time…
37-year-old me is coming for it. 😮💨🔥
Let’s see what tomorrow brings. 🏃♀️❤️
