Big shout out to all Disability Opportunities in Sport UK players and coaches who represented the organisation fantastically this weekend.

Teams from across the country gathered for the Special Olympics Great Britain National Summer Games basketball event. We had players and coaches across 6 teams, representing Team North or Team East Midlands.

Lovely to see so many happy faces, no matter what colour medal they got. Some fantastic basketball, a lot of fun, and we always see so many great people from across the UK who love Inclusive Running Basketball as much as we do!

Looking forward to the new season starting in September 🏀👊

Congratulations to our Chesterfield Sabres player Sophie who also is a superstar in Tennis 🎾

Sophie competed at the Tennis Special Olympics Great Britain National Summer Games last weekend and came away with two medals! Bronze and Silver!

Sophie and 22 other basketball players will be taking to the stage for the Basketball Event on Saturday and Sunday at National Basketball Performance Centre

We wanted to send a massive shout out and congratulations to our superstar young volunteer Ben!

Ben has been supporting out Young'uns sessions for many months now, has really grown in confidence, and has become a valued member of the team.

He has recently used his volunteer hours as part of Level 2 Qualification in Community Sports Leadership at school and was proud to show off his certificate before the summer kicked in.

Thank you Ben! We cannot wait to have you back after the summer.

We like to celebrate our members at DOSportUK. Fatima is one of our basketball players but is also a keen table tennis player. Over the weekend she competed at the Special Olympics Great Britain Table Tennis event for the Summer Series of Sport and not only did she come 4th in the singles event, she took Gold in both of her doubles events!

Well done Fatima. 🏓🏅

Competition Season complete.

Yesterday saw the final Disability Opportunities in Sport UK x Special Olympics Great Britain Inclusive Running Basketball Series. Supported by UPS we host a series of basketball events throughout the season for autistic basketball players and players with a learning disability.

DOSportUK volunteers work hard to plan, organise, and run these events and it is always a pleasure to see so many smiling faces after all of that hard work!

Big thank you to Loughborough University for hosting us. See you all next season 👊🏀
