The practice is pleased to share that we have been awarded a Gold & Silver award for our training of 4th & 5th year medical students for the academic year 2025-2026.

Manor House has been a long standing host for students from the University of Manchester ranging from those just starting out on their learning journey in year 1 all the way through to those in their last year as an ST3. We wouldn’t be able to make these placements happen and be as successful as they are without our patients.

So this is a huge THANK YOU to all our patients who have agreed to be consulted by any of our students and trainees. You are helping us train the next generation of doctors for the future. 💙

Below is the practice summary for the month of July. We hope that this information is helpful in providing an insight into some of the work carried out by the practice.

We are pleased to report that out of 710 responses 93% of patients have rated us as very good or good in this months Friends & Family Test. Thank you to everyone that takes the time to leave us feedback. This helps us improve the service we provide to our patients. Here is some of the feedback we have received:-

☀️ Professional knowledgeable healthcare advice from a friendly helpful member of the healthcare team.
☀️ The doctor was thorough in their examination and responded fully to my concerns about my health before deciding an appropriate treatment and review plan.
☀️The reception area was quiet, clean and peaceful. My appointment wasn't rushed and my symptoms were thoroughly checked.
☀️My appointment was arranged quickly, I was seen near enough on time and the nurse was friendly and professional

It's important to recognise the early signs of heat exhaustion and act quickly. Left untreated, it can lead to heatstroke, which is a medical emergency.

Looking after yourself and others in hot weather can make all the difference. Stay hydrated, avoid spending long periods in direct sunlight, and check on those who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

Did you know that high temperatures can make some medicines less effective if they aren't stored correctly?

If you're ever unsure whether a medicine has been exposed to too much heat, don't stop taking it without advice. Speak to your pharmacist or GP.

In 2025, 202 people accidentally drowned in open water across the UK. Many incidents happen suddenly, often because of cold water shock - an automatic response that can affect anyone, even strong swimmers.

Before heading to rivers, lakes, reservoirs or the sea this summer, take a moment to learn how to protect yourself and others.
