Today I had the honour of conducting the funeral of Mr Leslie Hall, retired auctioneer and director of Gloucester market auctioneers. Mr Hall was old school, a gentleman. A suit, tie and firm hand shake kind of man, he always had a smile and time for a chat. Rest in peace Les, now reunited with Nancie and many others.

On behalf of the family we’ve been asked to share this tribute and the funeral details of award winning chef Richard Bodger.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our much loved head chef, Richard Bodger.

Richard was part of The Farmers Boy Inn for over 24 years. He wasn’t just a chef, he was a huge part of this place and a big part of our lives. A true character, a loyal friend, and someone we all thought the world of.

A pie master with 46 British Pie Awards, he cooked for the late Queen Elizabeth and appeared on TV, but to us he was simply Richard… and he will be deeply missed.

Tuesday 28th April
3:30pm
Forest of Dean Crematorium

Richard will leave The Farmers Boy Inn at 3:00pm for anyone who would like to pay their respects.

All are welcome back to The Farmers Boy Inn afterwards for the wake.

Richard requested that donations be made to Sue Ryder Hospice in Leckhampton, Cheltenham instead of flowers.
