Great to welcome Dr Simon Opher, MP for Stroud, to a couple of our sites this morning. He was given updates on developments at Stroud General Hospital and at nearby Weavers Croft, where the Trust has recently installed solar panels.

As chair of the Net Zero All-Party Parliamentary Group, Dr Opher was keen to learn about the Trust's commitment to carbon reduction. Associate Director of Estates Kevin Adams talked through recent additions of solar panels, which have doubled in number this year to more than 2,000 thanks to work at our sites in Dursley, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stroud and Gloucester.

Looking for a role where you can genuinely change lives?

Our Individual Placement Support (IPS) team is growing, and we’re looking for a passionate, people‑focused Team Leader to help us support individuals living with severe mental health challenges into meaningful, sustained employment.

You’ll lead a team of Employment Specialists, champion the IPS model, and work closely with mental health teams, employers and community partners to raise expectations and open doors. This role blends leadership, service development and hands‑on support — perfect for someone who thrives on making a real impact.

What you’ll be doing:

Leading and supporting a team of Employment Specialists

Driving referrals and performance to meet NHS England targets

Building strong relationships with employers and community partners

Providing person‑centred employment support to people furthest from the job market

Promoting recovery, inclusion and the belief that paid work is possible

Ensuring fidelity to the IPS model through supervision, training and external reviews

Who we’re looking for:
Someone with experience in employment support and working alongside people with mental ill health, who brings confidence, compassion and the ability to inspire others.

If you’re ready to lead a service that changes futures, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Integrated Urgent Care Service that provides clinical assessment (telephone triage), out of hours treatment centres and home visiting services is being inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) later this year.

This is part of the CQC’s standard inspection programme.
The CQC would love to hear from anyone who has accessed the service about what you thought.

The service provides treatment centres in the out of hours period (evenings, overnight and weekends) in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Cirencester and the Forest of Dean. Access to the service is via NHS 111.

If you have used any of the above in Gloucestershire in the last 18 months, please share your feedback using the link on the CQC Website, email [email protected] or telephone 03000 61 61 61.

🌡️ Amber Heat Health Alert in Gloucestershire

Very hot weather over the next few days could affect anyone’s health, but older people, young children, pregnant women and those with long-term health conditions are at greater risk of becoming unwell.

💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you do not feel thirsty.

☀️ Stay in the shade where possible, especially between 11am and 3pm.

⚠️ Know the signs of heat exhaustion: dizziness, headache, feeling sick and extreme thirst. If you feel unwell, move to a cool place, drink water and seek medical advice if symptoms worsen.

🏠 Keep your home cool by closing curtains in sunny rooms during the day and opening windows when it is cooler outside.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Check in on family, friends and neighbours who may need extra support.

🚗 Never leave children, older people or pets in a parked car.

Take care of yourself, stay hydrated and look out for others during the hot weather. 💙

Congratulations to everyone who got the results they wanted on A Level results day. If you didn't get what you hoped for, take a look at the advice below.

Remember, whatever the outcome today, your results don't define you!

If you know someone who has received their A level or BTEC results, it can be a good idea to find out how they might be feeling – and how you can support them if needed.
