We’ve stocked up on a selection of beers, including alcohol-free options, along with some classic pub snacks ready for our residents to enjoy.

With an even bigger selection planned for this afternoon and into the evening—and some welcome sunshine too—we’re looking forward to a relaxed day of good company, conversation and refreshments.

🎉 A very special celebration at Redlands Acre! 🎂

We were delighted to help our wonderful resident Nancy celebrate her 103rd birthday — what an incredible milestone!

Nancy enjoyed a lovely day surrounded by cards, flowers, gifts and plenty of birthday wishes from everyone at the home. It was a real privilege to share such a special occasion with her and help make the day one to remember.

Please join us in wishing Nancy a very happy 103rd birthday. We hope she enjoyed every moment! 💐

💚 Kind words for the team at Redlands Acre...

We were incredibly grateful to receive this lovely feedback from the family of a resident who came to stay with us for respite care following a fall at home.

During what was understandably a difficult and worrying time, our team worked hard to make sure both the resident and her family felt supported, reassured and cared for. Hearing that our staff were described as kind, patient, compassionate and wonderful means so much to everyone at Cedar Trust.

Respite care can provide valuable short-term support following an illness, hospital stay or change in circumstances, while also giving families peace of mind that their loved one is safe and well cared for.

Good luck, England! ⚽🏆

There’s a real buzz at Redlands Acre Care Home today as England prepare for their World Cup Semi Final tonight.

Football always has a special way of bringing people together, and it’s been lovely hearing our residents chatting about the game, sharing memories of big football moments over the years, and making their own predictions for tonight’s score.

From the famous 1966 World Cup win to unforgettable England matches since, football has created so many memories for generations — and tonight we’ll be hoping for another special chapter.

Residents and staff will be cheering England on, with plenty of excitement, nerves and friendly football talk along the way.

From everyone at Redlands Acre Care Home, we’re wishing England the very best of luck in their 1am game on Monday morning.

We’re not sure how many of us will be staying up for this one, but we’ll certainly be cheering them on in spirit. For those who do manage to keep their eyes open, we hope you’ve had a good power nap beforehand!

The rest of us may be catching up on the result over breakfast, hopefully with some good news to start the day.

🌞 Hot Weather Advice...

With the warmer weather here, we wanted to share a few simple reminders to help everyone stay safe and comfortable.

Following NHS advice, it’s important to keep out of the heat where possible, especially between 11am and 3pm. Try to stay in shaded or cooler areas, wear light, loose-fitting clothing, and use sun cream and a hat if you do need to go outside.

Keeping hydrated is also really important. Drink plenty of cool fluids throughout the day, and try to avoid too much alcohol, caffeine or very hot drinks. Cool foods such as fruit, salads and lighter meals can also help.

At home, keeping rooms cool can make a big difference. Close curtains or blinds in rooms that face the sun, and open windows when it is cooler outside, if it is safe to do so.

Please also keep an eye on loved ones, neighbours and friends, especially older people or anyone who may be more vulnerable in the heat.

Stay safe, keep cool, and enjoy the sunshine sensibly. 💚

🌞 Hot Weather Advice...

With temperatures expected to peak today and very warm weather continuing throughout the week, we’re reminding everyone to take extra care in the heat.

At Redlands Acre Care Home, we’ll be doing all we can to keep our residents cool, comfortable and well hydrated. Warm weather can be lovely, but it’s important to stay safe, especially for older people who can be more affected by the heat.

Please remember to drink regularly, stay in the shade where possible, wear light clothing, and check in on loved ones, neighbours and friends.

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine sensibly. 💚
