What a busy few weeks for Precious Hands! Our owner Melanie was proud to be invited to lead a workshop at the University of Gloucestershire's SEND & Inclusion Conference. She discussed:
π The post-graduate qualifications Play Therapists need to achieve to qualify as Certified Play Therapists
π The professional governing bodies, including PTUK - The UK Society for Play and Creative Arts Therapies schools & organisations need to look for to ensure their Play Therapist is Certified
π A deeper look into how & why Play Therapy is effective in supporting children & young people, including the practice-based evidence we provide and the methods we use.
π How schools & organisations can support professional therapists- including offering an effective confidential space and including them in professional meetings in school.
π How Play Therapists can support schools- by offering important advice, professional reports & supporting parents & carers
π How they can support the Child Mental Health Charter to ensure early intervention & a regulated qualified mental health workforce.
She received fantastic feedback and held important conversations with our professional colleagues. She has accepted an invitation to return next year. Thank you for a fantastic event University of Gloucestershire.
