β˜€οΈ Making a difference at Lakefest 2026 β˜€οΈ

Over three days, our Sun and Skin Awareness team engaged with 1,435 festival-goers, providing expert advice, information and skin checks.

Of those seen, 37 suspected skin cancers were identified, including 14 suspected melanomas, showing just how important it is to check your skin and seek advice if you have any concerns.

With temperatures soaring throughout the weekend, we were also able to promote sun safety, thanks to the generous support of La Roche-Posay and Altruist Sunscreen, who provided sun cream samples and communal sunscreen stations for festival visitors.

A huge thank you to Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, Melanoma Focus, SKCIN and Cancer Research UK, along with our incredible volunteers. From cancer support workers and specialist nurses to doctors, consultants, secretaries, managers and family members, their dedication helped make this event such a success.

βœ… Cool your body down with water, a fan or cool clothing
βœ… Check on vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours

If symptoms worsen or you are concerned about yourself or someone else, seek medical advice.
