πŸ’™ Listening. Learning. Improving.

Our latest Engagement and Involvement Review 2025–2026 highlights how patients, carers, colleagues, community groups and partners have helped shape and improve services across Gloucestershire over the past year.

From strengthening youth voice and leadership to improving maternity services and reaching underserved communities, engagement continues to play a vital role in helping us deliver the best care for everyone.

Between April 2025 and March 2026, we engaged more than 7,000 people through 42 activities across Gloucestershire.

πŸ’™ Some patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) may now be offered appointments in our Mobile Cancer Care Unit (MCCU) instead of Avening Ward at Cheltenham General Hospital.

Supported by national cancer charity Hope for Tomorrow, the MCCU provides the same high-quality care from our expert oncology teams in a welcoming environment. For many patients, it can also mean easier parking, shorter walking distances and more convenient access for family members and carers.

The unit helps us ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

🧢 Are you a keen knitter or crocheter? We'd love your help!

Our Voluntary Services team is looking for volunteers to help make and check Twiddlemitts for patients living with dementia or learning disabilities.

Twiddlemitts are knitted or crocheted sleeves with carefully selected items attached, providing comfort and sensory stimulation through touch, colour and movement.

Join us for an information session:
πŸ“ Atrium, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital
πŸ“… Monday 21 September
⏰ 10am to 12pm

Come along to learn how Twiddlemitts are made, what accessories are suitable, and how you can get involved.

Can't make it on the day? Email [email protected] to find out more.

⚠️ Please contact the team before sending any Twiddlemitts, as all items must meet specific safety and quality requirements.
